Cholecystectomy has become the standard procedure for benign gallbladder disease since 1882 because of its strong curative effect and low recurrence rate. However, many complications or adverse reactions may occur after gallbladder loss, such as diarrhea and dyspepsia. With the improvement of people's requirements for quality of life and the penetration of the concept of "precision medicine","gallbladder-preserving lithotomy" has been carried out to a certain extent in clinical practice. However, most experts and scholars in hepatobiliary surgery oppose "gallbladder-preserving lithotomy", believing that there are problems such as high recurrence rate of gallstones after gallbladder-preserving surgery and irregular surgical methods.

There has been considerable controversy over this procedure for a long time. However, there is no high-quality supporting evidence for and against it, and the current evidence is insufficient to deny the rationality of "gallbladder preservation" surgery. For the gallbladder preservation controversy, the existing evidence focuses on medical factors such as clinical treatment results and professional opinions, while a key non-medical factor-public/patient attitude-has been largely ignored. Therefore, we intend to understand the public/patient attitude towards gallbladder preservation surgery through questionnaires, and provide new evidence for the current controversy over gallbladder preservation surgery.","The general public without medical or nursing background",[19
"Chunfu Zhu, MD","CONTACT","13961190702","zcfmlm@njmu.edu.cn",[25
"The Second People's Hospital of Changzhou","RECRUITING","Changzhou","Jiangsu","213000","China","CN
Point",[36,37],119.95401,31.77359
40
"051988104931
"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","luokai zhang","resident doctor","100658665","a-survey-of-public-attitudes-towards-gallbladder-preserving-lithotomy-and-its-influencing-factors-100658665",false,"NCT07854379","A Survey of Public Attitudes Towards Gallbladder-preserving Lithotomy and Its Influencing Factors","Inclusion Criteria:

* Conscious and able to complete the questionnaire independently
* Voluntary participation in this study and signing of informed consent

Exclusion Criteria:

* Refusal to participate in this study
* Inability to participate in this study due to mental illness, cognitive impairment, or other insurmountable reasons such as visual or hearing impairment
* People with medical or nursing backgrounds",true,"ALL","18 Years
5000,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","This study aims to understand public/patient attitudes toward gallbladder preservation surgery by means of questionnaires, and hopes to achieve the following objectives:

1. To understand public/patient attitudes towards gallbladder preservation surgery and provide new evidence for the controversy over gallbladder preservation surgery;
2. Introduce a new kind of "evidence" into this controversy: social or preference evidence；
3. Verify the applicability of informed choice and shared decision making；
4. Provide "public opinion" reference for medical policy and guideline formulation ，and help them develop guidelines or policies that are more in line with patients 'needs；
5. Help clinicians understand patients 'concerns, provide basis for making more scientific individualized treatment decisions, and promote the standardization process of diagnosis and treatment of benign gallbladder diseases.

The survey will be conducted in the Second People's Hospital of Changzhou City from July 2026 to December 2026 in the form of questionnaire (electronic questionnaire). The questionnaire will be distributed to all regions of the Chinese mainland, and will be conducted daily by in-hospital doctors and designated questionnaire collectors.",[61],"Cholecystolithiasis","2026-09-27
2026-10-02","ACTUAL
2026-07-21
2027-04-30
1]
