Its clinical course is highly variable, ranging from spontaneous remission to progressive kidney function decline and end-stage kidney disease. Current prognostic assessment relies mainly on conventional clinical and laboratory parameters such as proteinuria, serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and serum albumin. These markers have limited accuracy in predicting individual patient outcomes.\n\nSeveral prognostic nomograms have been developed by combining clinical, laboratory, and immunological variables. However, most of these models were derived from single-center cohorts and require external validation in different populations.\n\nThis prospective observational study will evaluate clinical and laboratory predictors of disease progression in patients with biopsy-proven primary membranous nephropathy and assess the performance of a prognostic nomogram for predicting renal outcomes in patients attending Assiut University Hospitals.","Adults with biopsy-proven primary membranous nephropathy attending the Nephrology Unit, Department of Internal Medicine, Assiut University Hospitals who meet the eligibility criteria.",[34],{"name":35,"affiliation":36,"role":37},"Essam M Abdel Aziz, prof","Nephrology Unit, Internal Medicine Department, Assiut University Hospitals, Assiut, Egypt","STUDY_CHAIR",[39],{"name":40,"role":41,"phone":42,"phoneExt":43,"email":44},"Aisha M Elqathafy, resident","CONTACT","01148313428","022","aisha.18313210@med.aun.edu.eg",{"type":46,"investigatorFullName":47,"investigatorTitle":48,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":27,"oldOrganization":27},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Aisha ElQathafy Mahmoud","Resident","100653206","clinical-prediction-model-for-disease-progression-in-primary-membranous-nephropathy-100653206",false,"NCT07785739","Clinical Prediction Model for Disease Progression in Primary Membranous Nephropathy","Assessment of a Clinical Prediction Model for Disease Progression in Patients With Primary Membranous Nephropathy: A Prospective Observational Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age ≥ 18 years\n* Biopsy-proven primary membranous nephropathy\n* Written informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Secondary membranous nephropathy (e.g., lupus nephritis, hepatitis B or C, malignancy, drug-induced)\n* Pregnancy\n* End-stage kidney disease at presentation\n* Refusal to participate","ALL","18 Years",{"count":59,"type":60},128,"ESTIMATED","12 Months","OBSERVATIONAL","This prospective observational study aims to evaluate predictors of disease progression in patients with primary membranous nephropathy and to assess the performance of a prognostic nomogram in predicting renal outcomes in the Egyptian population.",[65,66,67],"Membranous Nephropathy","Nephrotic Syndrome","Kidney Diseases",[69,70,71,72,73],"Primary membranous nephropathy","Prognostic nomogram","Disease progression","Renal outcomes","Anti-PLA2R","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-09-01",{"date":77,"type":78},"2026-09-02","ACTUAL",{"date":80,"type":60},"2026-08-20",{"date":82,"type":60},"2028-03-20",{"name":5,"class":6}]
