Systemic inflammation in rheumatologic conditions may affect these glands, leading to dry eye symptoms and ocular surface damage.\n\nA total of 150 participants (120 rheumatologic patients and 30 healthy controls) will be evaluated in a single cross-sectional examination. Rheumatologic diagnoses include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren's Syndrome, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Psoriatic Arthritis.\n\nParticipants will undergo a standardized series of non-invasive and minimally invasive eye examinations, including:\n\n* An ocular symptom questionnaire (Ocular Surface Disease Index)\n* Non-contact infrared meibography to assess meibomian gland loss (Meiboscore)\n* Non-invasive tear break-up time (NIBUT) and tear meniscus height measurements\n* Slit-lamp biomicroscopy and corneal fluorescein staining\n\nThe study also examines how meibomian gland alterations correlate with systemic disease activity scores and inflammatory blood markers.",[44,45,46,47,48,49,50],"Meibomian Gland Dysfunction","Dry Eye Syndromes","Rheumatoid Arthritis","Systemic Lupus Erythematosus","Sjogren's Syndrome","Ankylosing Spondylitis","Psoriatic Arthritis",[52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59],"Ocular Surface Disease","Meibography","Meiboscore","Non-Invasive Tear Break-Up Time","Tear Meniscus Height","Ocular Surface Disease Index","Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases","Corneal Fluorescein Staining","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-09-03",{"date":63,"type":64},"2026-09-09","ACTUAL",{"date":66,"type":40},"2026-10",{"date":68,"type":40},"2027-11",{"name":5,"class":6}]
