The study population includes individuals who are Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) seronegative and receive a kidney from an EBV-seropositive donor, a group at increased risk for EBV-related complications following transplantation.\n\nKidney transplantation requires substantial immunosuppression to maintain graft function. While necessary, this immunosuppression increases susceptibility to infections, including EBV, which may lead to serious clinical consequences in immunocompromised individuals.\n\nIn this study, participants will receive the IDO-1 inhibitor or placebo in addition to standard-of-care immunosuppressive therapy. Study treatment will be initiated prior to kidney transplantation or on the day of transplantation, depending on donor availability, and will be administered for a defined treatment period, followed by a safety follow-up phase.\n\nThe primary objective of the study is to assess the safety and tolerability of the IDO-1 inhibitor in kidney transplant recipients, including the incidence of adverse events and clinically relevant laboratory abnormalities.",[45,50],{"label":46,"type":47,"description":11,"interventionNames":48},"Treatment","EXPERIMENTAL",[49],"Drug: indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO-1) inhibitor",{"label":51,"type":52,"description":11,"interventionNames":53},"Placebo","PLACEBO_COMPARATOR",[54],"Drug: placebo",[56,61],{"type":57,"name":58,"description":59,"armGroupLabels":60,"otherNames":11},"DRUG","indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO-1) inhibitor","Study treatment will be initiated one day prior to kidney transplantation or, for recipients of cadaveric donor organs, on the day of transplantation, and will be administered at a dose of 200 mg once daily for a total duration of 28 days, followed by a safety follow-up phase.",[46],{"type":57,"name":62,"description":63,"armGroupLabels":64,"otherNames":11},"placebo","A matching placebo will be administered once daily, initiated one day prior to kidney transplantation or, for recipients of cadaveric donor organs, on the day of transplantation, for a total duration of 28 days, followed by a safety follow-up phase.",[51],[66],{"name":67,"affiliation":5,"role":68},"Matthias Diebold","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[70],{"name":71,"role":72,"phone":73,"phoneExt":11,"email":74},"Pietro Ernesto Cippà, Prof.","CONTACT","+41 61 32 84848","pietro.cippa@usb.ch",[76,96,112,126],{"facility":77,"status":78,"city":79,"state":80,"zip":81,"country":82,"countryCode":83,"cosmosGeoPoint":84,"geoPoint":89,"contacts":90},"University Hospital Bern","RECRUITING","Bern","Canton of Bern","3010","Switzerland","CH",{"type":85,"coordinates":86},"Point",[87,88],7.44744,46.94809,{"lat":88,"lon":87},[91],{"name":92,"role":72,"phone":93,"phoneExt":94,"email":95},"Daniel Sidler, Prof. Dr. med.","(0)31 664 04 10","0041","daniel.sidler@insel.ch",{"facility":97,"status":98,"city":99,"state":100,"zip":101,"country":82,"countryCode":83,"cosmosGeoPoint":102,"geoPoint":106,"contacts":107},"University Hospital Zurich","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","Zurich","Canton of Zurich","8091",{"type":85,"coordinates":103},[104,105],8.55,47.36667,{"lat":105,"lon":104},[108],{"name":109,"role":72,"phone":110,"phoneExt":94,"email":111},"Nicolas Müller, Prof. Dr. med.","(0)44 255 33 22","Nicolas.Mueller@usz.ch",{"facility":113,"status":98,"city":114,"state":114,"zip":115,"country":82,"countryCode":83,"cosmosGeoPoint":116,"geoPoint":120,"contacts":121},"Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV)","Lausanne","1011",{"type":85,"coordinates":117},[118,119],6.63282,46.516,{"lat":119,"lon":118},[122],{"name":123,"role":72,"phone":124,"phoneExt":94,"email":125},"Manuel Oriol, Prof. Dr. med.","(0)21 314 1026","oriol.Manuel@chuv.ch",{"facility":127,"status":98,"city":128,"state":11,"zip":129,"country":82,"countryCode":83,"cosmosGeoPoint":130,"geoPoint":134,"contacts":135},"University Hospital Basel","Basel","4031",{"type":85,"coordinates":131},[132,133],7.57327,47.55839,{"lat":133,"lon":132},[136,140],{"name":137,"role":72,"phone":138,"phoneExt":11,"email":139},"Matthias Diebold, PD Dr. med.","+41 61 328 64 22","matthias.diebold@usb.ch",{"name":141,"role":68,"phone":11,"phoneExt":11,"email":11},"Pietro Cippà, Prof.",{"type":143,"investigatorFullName":11,"investigatorTitle":11,"investigatorAffiliation":11,"oldNameTitle":11,"oldOrganization":11},"SPONSOR",[145],{"name":146,"class":147},"Hornet Therapeutics.","UNKNOWN","100621248","phase-2-safety-and-tolerability-of-ido-1-inhibition-in-the-prevention-of-ebv-related-pathology-in-ebv-negative-kidney-transplant-recipients-receiving-an-organ-from-ebv-positive-donors-100621248",false,"NCT07368153","Safety and Tolerability of IDO-1 Inhibition in the Prevention of EBV-related Pathology in EBV Negative Kidney Transplant Recipients Receiving an Organ From EBV Positive Donors","A Randomised, Controlled, Double-blind Study to Evaluate the Safety and Tolerability of IDO-1 Inhibition in the Prevention of EBV-related Pathology in EBV Negative Kidney Transplant Recipients Receiving an Organ From EBV Positive Donors.","IDEP","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1.
