The population will include patients undergoing surgery for benign or malignant lung conditions through video-assisted, robot-assisted, or open approaches. Trained research staff will administer the questionnaire before surgery. The total score will be analyzed primarily as a continuous measure, with higher scores indicating better functional capacity. Questionnaire data will be linked to routine clinical, anesthesia, and surgical information to examine associations with postoperative pulmonary complications and recovery. It will include adults scheduled for surgery to remove part or all of a lung.\n\nThe main questions are:\n\n* Is lower physical function before surgery associated with a higher risk of lung complications afterward?\n* Can information reported by patients improve risk assessment when added to routine clinical information?\n* How is physical function before surgery related to recovery afterward?\n\nParticipants will complete questionnaires about their physical abilities, breathing symptoms, and recovery. Researchers will also collect information from medical records, including lung function tests, anesthesia care, the type of surgery, pain management, and chest drainage. Participants will be followed after surgery to record lung complications and recovery.\n\nThis is an observational study. The research team will not assign patients to particular treatments or change their usual surgical or anesthesia care. The findings may help identify patients who need closer assessment and additional support around the time of lung surgery.",[38,39],"Postoperative Pulmonary Complications (PPCs)","Preoperative Functional Status","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-09-26",{"date":43,"type":44},"2026-10-01","ACTUAL",{"date":46,"type":34},"2026-11-10",{"date":48,"type":34},"2027-03-25",{"name":5,"class":6}]
