resistance is a key factor in the development of metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and cardiovascular-metabolic disease (CVMD). It occurs when tissues such as skeletal muscle, fat, and liver respond poorly to insulin, leading to metabolic imbalance.\n\nIn skeletal muscle, insulin resistance reduces glucose uptake after meals, leaving blood sugar elevated for longer. This contributes to stress on pancreatic beta-cells and damages blood vessels and the heart. In adipose tissue, impaired insulin action increases the release of free fatty acids, which build up in the liver, muscle, and heart, worsening fat accumulation and mitochondrial dysfunction. In the liver, insulin resistance prevents proper suppression of glucose production, causing fasting hyperglycemia and accelerating progression to diabetes.\n\nTogether, these tissue-specific changes drive hyperglycemia, abnormal lipid levels, inflammation, and vascular dysfunction-hallmarks of metabolic syndrome. Early detection and targeted management of insulin resistance are therefore crucial for preventing MASLD and CVMD This study will enable evaluation of CGM-derived metrics against established OGTT-based measures, providing insights into early metabolic dysfunction in individuals without diabetes under both controlled and real-world conditions.","Recruitment is in Singapore as follows:\n\n1. Flyer: The flyer, which contains a QR code to our landing page and the study contact number, will be distributed at various outreach events such as the Standard Chartered Marathon Race Pack Collection. Permissions will be obtained from the event organizers (if necessary, especially for non-NUS events), before distribution of flyers.\n2. Word of Mouth: We are planning to inform participants of Project RESET about this study and encourage them to inform their family and friends to participate in it.\n3. Project RESET Cohort: About 5000 people have signed up for Project RESET and we can look to recruit these people for this study if they have given their consent to be contacted for other studies.\n4. Expression of interest online form: There was an online Town Hall conducted for all Project RESET participants on 11th and 12th of February 2026 and Project INSPIRE was introduced there with a link and QR code to Project INSPIRE.",[181],{"label":182,"type":174,"description":183,"interventionNames":174},"Main Study Cohort","There is only one study cohort for Project Inspire, and no interventions are done on them as this is an Observational study.",[185],{"name":186,"affiliation":187,"role":188},"Roger Sik Yin Foo, MD","National University of Singapore (NUS), National University Hospital (NUH)","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[190],{"name":191,"role":192,"phone":193,"phoneExt":174,"email":194},"Benjamin Jia-Hui Loh, PhD","CONTACT","+65-89430875","benjaminloh82@nus.edu.sg",[196],{"facility":197,"status":198,"city":199,"state":199,"zip":200,"country":199,"countryCode":201,"cosmosGeoPoint":202,"geoPoint":207,"contacts":208},"MD6, Centre for Translational Medicine, 14 Medical Drive, Singapore 117599","RECRUITING","Singapore","117599","SG",{"type":203,"coordinates":204},"Point",[205,206],103.85007,1.28967,{"lat":206,"lon":205},[209,210,214],{"name":191,"role":192,"phone":193,"phoneExt":174,"email":194},{"name":211,"role":192,"phone":212,"phoneExt":174,"email":213},"Beverly Jingmei Wong, BSc","+65-80258009","beverlyw@nus.edu.sg",{"name":215,"role":216,"phone":174,"phoneExt":174,"email":174},"Jocelyn Han Shi Chew, PhD","SUB_INVESTIGATOR",{"type":188,"investigatorFullName":218,"investigatorTitle":219,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":174,"oldOrganization":174},"Jocelyn Chew","Assistant Professor","100659093","reset-inspire-study-insulin-sensitivity--population-intervention-with-real-time-evaluation-using-cgm-100659093",false,"NCT07861191","RESET-INSPIRE Study: Insulin Sensitivity & Population Intervention With Real-time Evaluation Using CGM","RESET-INSPIRE","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1.
