It will also (3) compare effects of dual-coil cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation (ccPAS) protocols with different interstimulus intervals (ISI) on this TMS-EEG-based IHI marker in poststroke patients. Methods: Study 1: IHI will be conducted in 20 stroke patients and 20 healthy counterparts using TMS-EEG and TMS-EMG; furthermore, both measures will be repeated after one week for test-retest reliability. Study 2: A randomized-crossover trial where 20 stroke patients undergo a single-session ccPAS in three separate visits (ISI: 8ms: LTD-like, 12ms: LTP-like, 100ms: sham) to investigate the differential modulatory effects in IHI.",[28,34,38],{"label":29,"type":30,"description":31,"interventionNames":32},"ccPAS (8ms)","EXPERIMENTAL","ccPAS session will involve 180 paired pulses repeated at a frequency of 0.2Hz (approximately 15 minutes), stimulating the ipsilesional M1 8ms after the first pulse over the contralesional M1, during premovement stage.",[33],"Device: Dual coil transcranial magnetic stimulation",{"label":35,"type":30,"description":36,"interventionNames":37},"ccPAS (12ms)","ccPAS session will involve 180 paired pulses repeated at a frequency of 0.2Hz (approximately 15 minutes), stimulating the ipsilesional M1 12ms after the first pulse over the contralesional M1, during premovement stage.",[33],{"label":39,"type":40,"description":41,"interventionNames":42},"Sham ccPAS","SHAM_COMPARATOR","ccPAS session will involve 180 paired pulses repeated at a frequency of 0.2Hz (approximately 15 minutes), stimulating the ipsilesional M1 100ms after the first pulse over the contralesional M1, during premovement stage.",[33],[44],{"type":45,"name":46,"description":47,"armGroupLabels":48,"otherNames":16},"DEVICE","Dual coil transcranial magnetic stimulation","The ccPAS will be applied using a MagPro X100\u002FR30 stimulator and a MagPro R20\u002FR30 extension connected to two vertically oriented figure-of-eight coils designed for bilateral hemispheric stimulation.",[39,35,29],[50],{"name":51,"role":52,"phone":53,"phoneExt":16,"email":54},"JIAQI JACK Zhang, PhD","CONTACT","27666696","jack-jiaqi.zhang@polyu.edu.hk",[56,67],{"facility":57,"status":58,"city":59,"state":16,"zip":16,"country":59,"countryCode":60,"cosmosGeoPoint":61,"geoPoint":66,"contacts":16},"Hong Kong Polytechnic University","RECRUITING","Hong Kong","HK",{"type":62,"coordinates":63},"Point",[64,65],114.17469,22.27832,{"lat":65,"lon":64},{"facility":5,"status":68,"city":59,"state":16,"zip":16,"country":59,"countryCode":60,"cosmosGeoPoint":69,"geoPoint":71,"contacts":72},"NOT_YET_RECRUITING",{"type":62,"coordinates":70},[64,65],{"lat":65,"lon":64},[73],{"name":51,"role":52,"phone":53,"phoneExt":16,"email":54},{"type":75,"investigatorFullName":16,"investigatorTitle":16,"investigatorAffiliation":16,"oldNameTitle":16,"oldOrganization":16},"SPONSOR","100626139","the-use-of-dual-coil-transcranial-magnetic-stimulation-to-measure-and-modulate-poststroke-interhemispheric-inhibition-100626139",false,"NCT07431749","The Use of Dual-coil Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to Measure and Modulate Poststroke Interhemispheric Inhibition.","Using Dual-coil Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to Measure and Modulate Poststroke Interhemispheric Inhibition (IHI): A Concurrent TMS-EEG-EMG Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* (1) have a diagnosis of ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, with time after stroke onset≥6 months.
