Currently, scientists do not fully understand how the brain creates these false visual images. This lack of knowledge makes it difficult to develop effective treatments.\n\nThis study aims to understand the neural mechanisms that give rise to these hallucinatory experiences. The study will include three groups of volunteers:\n\n1. LBD patients who experience visual hallucinations\n2. LBD patients who do not have visual hallucinations\n3. age-matched volunteers without a significant neurological history\n\nDuring the study, participants will undergo safe, non-invasive brain imaging scans. While being scanned, they will either rest or complete visual computer tasks.\n\nThe results of this study will help map the brain networks responsible for visual hallucinations. These insights will help researchers develop better, targeted interventions for this disabling symptom.","Three subject cohorts will be recruited for this study: 1) LBD patients who experience visual hallucinations (LBD-VH group); 2) patients diagnosed with LBD without any visual hallucinations (LBD-non-VH group, control arm); 3) age and demographically matched controls.",[23,29,32],{"label":24,"type":16,"description":25,"interventionNames":26},"Patients with Lewy Body Diseases who experience visual hallucinations","Patients will complete between one and multiple outpatient experimental sessions, depending on the specific scientific question being addressed, the type of data required by the investigator and the patient's availability.\n\nPotential interventions include: behavioral tasks, MRI scans, MEG scans.",[27,28],"Behavioral: Behavioral Tasks","Other: MRI\u002FMEG Scans",{"label":30,"type":16,"description":25,"interventionNames":31},"Patients with Lewy Body Diseases who do not experience visual hallucinations",[27,28],{"label":33,"type":16,"description":25,"interventionNames":34},"Age-matched controls",[27,28],[36,41],{"type":37,"name":38,"description":39,"armGroupLabels":40,"otherNames":16},"BEHAVIORAL","Behavioral Tasks","Delivered as part of outpatient experimental sessions.",[33,30,24],{"type":6,"name":42,"description":39,"armGroupLabels":43,"otherNames":16},"MRI\u002FMEG Scans",[33,30,24],[45],{"name":46,"affiliation":5,"role":47},"Biyu He, PhD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[49,54],{"name":50,"role":51,"phone":52,"phoneExt":16,"email":53},"Yuan-hao Wu","CONTACT","212.263.0307","Yuanhao.Wu@nyulangone.org",{"name":55,"role":51,"phone":56,"phoneExt":16,"email":57},"Nalini Jeet","212-263-0228","Nalini.Jeet@nyulangone.org",[59],{"facility":5,"status":60,"city":61,"state":61,"zip":62,"country":63,"countryCode":64,"cosmosGeoPoint":65,"geoPoint":70,"contacts":16},"RECRUITING","New York","10016","United States","US",{"type":66,"coordinates":67},"Point",[68,69],-74.00597,40.71427,{"lat":69,"lon":68},{"type":72,"investigatorFullName":16,"investigatorTitle":16,"investigatorAffiliation":16,"oldNameTitle":16,"oldOrganization":16},"SPONSOR",[74],{"name":75,"class":76},"National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)","NIH","100658291","visual-hallucinations-in-lewy-body-diseases-100658291",false,"NCT07849413","Visual Hallucinations in Lewy Body Diseases","Understanding Neural Mechanisms Underlying Visual Hallucinations in Lewy Body Diseases","Inclusion Criteria:\n\nI) LBD Patients with or without visual hallucinations\n\n1. 18 - 90 yrs\n2.
