Employees working in work units participating in the study. For the primary analyses, employees who work regular night shifts. Employees with available administrative, payroll-based working-hour and employment records.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\nExclusive day workers. Employees performing shift work that does not include night shifts. The secondary aim is to investigate experiences of promoting and hindering factors related to the working-hour reduction, its implementation process, and perceived benefits and challenges.\n\nThe working-hour reduction will be implemented in three Finnish wellbeing services counties with different starting dates, the first being in late September 2026 and the latest in early 2027. The working-hour reduction has been agreed upon by the parties to the collective agreement for Finnish public social and health care. Thus, intervention is a so-called natural experiment in a real-life setting.\n\nThe effects of the intervention will be evaluated using a quasi-experimental design with staggered, non-randomized implementation across participating counties. Administrative, payroll-based, employer-owned working-hour data, including records of sickness absences without any medical or health information and other absences (including unpaid, education, and childcare), will be used to compare changes before and during the intervention among work units participating in the working-hour reduction. The investigation will also utilize matched work units that do not participate in the reduction (i.e., intervention) as control units (i.e., continuing standard working-hour arrangements).",[28,29],"Night Shift Work","Sickness Absence",[31,32,33,28,34,29,35,36,37],"Working Time Reduction","Reduced Working Hours","Night Work","Healthcare Workers","Employee turnover","Payroll-Based Working Hour Data","Quasi-experimental Study","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-09-23",{"date":41,"type":42},"2026-09-30","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":22},{"date":45,"type":22},"2028-04-01",{"name":47,"class":48},"Finnish Institute of Occupational Health","OTHER",3,{"id":51,"slug":52,"hasResults":11,"nctId":53,"briefTitle":54,"officialTitle":54,"acronym":55,"eligibilityCriteria":56,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":18,"minAge":19,"maxAge":57,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":60,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":67,"overallStatus":74,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":75,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":76,"startDateStruct":78,"completionDateStruct":80,"leadSponsor":82,"locationsCount":83},"100570642","stroke-in-working-age-and-job-accommodation-in-facilitating-transition-back-to-work-100570642","NCT06709898","Stroke in Working Age and Job Accommodation in Facilitating Transition Back to Work","SWIFT","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Ischemic stroke occurred within 12 month\n* At least mild cognitive, emotional and\u002For state alertness symptoms detected in neuropsychological assessment in subacute phase\n* Employed when the stroke occurred and has workplace where to return\n* Occupational health services (OHS) available\n* Participant has agreed that clinical neuropsychologist and researcher can participate to OHS consultation regarding the job accommodation\n* Adequate Finnish language ability to the questionnaires and cognitive tests\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Work status - professional driver or some other safety critical occupation where even mild cognitive impairments restrict return to work\n* Former neurological or psychiatric disorder or developmental disability affecting significantly cognition","68 Years",{"count":59,"type":22},100,[25],"The aim of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to investigate whether cognitive job accommodation intervention enhances return to work, work ability and performance after ischemic stroke in working-age population.
