However, it is known that surgical success is not limited to the operation itself; pre- and post-operative processes are at least as important as the surgical technique. In particular, active patient participation, early mobilization, and adherence to exercises during the rehabilitation period directly affect treatment outcomes.\n\nPatient education plays a critical role in this process. Accurate and sufficient information reduces patients' anxieties about the surgical process and increases their confidence in the recovery process. It also prevents the development of kinesiophobia (fear of movement), supporting patients in participating in physical activity more quickly and safely.\n\nPatient education can be provided through various methods. Traditional approaches include face-to-face clinical training, verbal information provided by nurses or physiotherapists, written brochures, and visual materials. While this standard clinical training is effective in conveying basic information, it may have limitations in patients' ability to recall information and adapt it to daily life.\n\nIn recent years, technology-based training methods have gained increasing importance. In particular, AI-assisted video-based anatomical visualization training can present the structure of the surgery, the placement of the prosthesis, and the movement mechanism to patients in a more understandable and visual way. Such interactive and visually rich training offers advantages in terms of increasing patients' knowledge levels, reducing anxiety, and strengthening their participation in treatment.\n\nIn conclusion, success after total knee arthroplasty depends not only on the surgical intervention but also on effective patient education. Comparing standard clinical training with AI-assisted visual training methods constitutes an important area of research for improving patient outcomes.",[64,65],"Knee Osteoarthritis","Total Knee Arthroplasty",[65,67,68,69],"AI-Assisted Training","Anxiety","Kinesiophobia",{"date":71,"type":41},"2026-08-13",{"date":73,"type":21},"2026-08-15",{"date":75,"type":21},"2026-11-15",{"name":47,"class":48},{"id":78,"slug":79,"hasResults":11,"nctId":80,"briefTitle":81,"officialTitle":82,"acronym":83,"eligibilityCriteria":84,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":85,"enrollmentInfo":86,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":87,"briefSummary":88,"conditions":89,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":96,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":38,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":97,"startDateStruct":98,"completionDateStruct":100,"leadSponsor":102,"locationsCount":103},"100628661","effects-of-stoma-education-on-patients-100628661","NCT07464548","Effects of Stoma Education on Patients","Determining the Effects of Stoma Education on Patients' Self-Efficacy, Body Image, and Stoma Adherence","Stoma","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adults who have undergone colostomy or ileostomy surgery.\n* Willingness to participate voluntarily in the study.\n* Elective surgery patients.\n* No diagnosed psychological disorders.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Emergency surgery cases.\n* Patients with cognitive impairment or psychiatric disorders preventing participation.\n* Patients unwilling to participate or unable to comply with study follow-ups.","90 Years",{"count":20,"type":21},[24],"tomas are classified according to the anatomical region in which they are created and the surgical technique used. Stomas that open into the large intestine are called colostomies, those that open into the small intestine are called ileostomies, and the creation of an anastomosis of the ureters to the abdominal wall is called a urostomy. Stomas are commonly used in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. Ileostomy and colostomy are the most frequently encountered types of stomas. While colorectal cancer is the primary reason for intestinal stoma creation, inflammatory bowel diseases, penetrating abdominal injuries, congenital anomalies, obstructions due to diverticular disease, ischemic colitis, radiation injury, sigmoid colon volvulus, and fecal incontinence are also among the indications for stoma creation. Despite advances in surgical techniques, complications are commonly seen in individuals with stomas. Incorrect stoma placement, the use of inappropriate bags and adapter systems, and a lack of knowledge and skills among patients and caregivers play a significant role in the development of complications. Depending on these conditions, patients may encounter problems such as edema, bleeding, ischemia, and mucocutaneous dehiscence in the early postoperative period. These complications negatively affect not only physical health but also the individual's social life, psychological state, and overall quality of life. Symptoms such as peristomal skin problems, uncontrolled gas release, fecal incontinence, and pain can hinder participants' adaptation to daily life and lead to social isolation. Nursing care and patient education are of great importance in managing these problems faced by individuals with stomas. The nursing process requires a comprehensive approach extending from the pre-operative period to the post-discharge phase. In this process, individualized education programs addressing fundamental issues such as nutrition, elimination, sexuality, social participation, and privacy should be implemented to improve quality of life, develop self-care skills, and prevent complications. In this context, the investigators have planned this study to determine the effects of the education provided to patients on stoma adaptation, body image, and self-efficacy.",[90,91,92,93,94,95],"Colostomy - Stoma","Ileostomy - Stoma","Patient Education","Body Image","Self Efficacy","Adjustment","RECRUITING",{"date":71,"type":41},{"date":99,"type":41},"2026-03-10",{"date":101,"type":21},"2026-11-10",{"name":47,"class":48},2,{"id":105,"slug":106,"hasResults":11,"nctId":107,"briefTitle":108,"officialTitle":109,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":110,"healthyVolunteers":111,"sex":17,"minAge":112,"maxAge":113,"enrollmentInfo":114,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":116,"briefSummary":117,"conditions":118,"keywords":121,"overallStatus":37,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":127,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":128,"startDateStruct":130,"completionDateStruct":131,"leadSponsor":133,"locationsCount":49},"100633354","social-work-supported-physiotherapy-and-psychosocial-outcomes-in-third-age-university-and-nursing-home-residents-100633354","NCT07525596","Social Work-Supported Physiotherapy and Psychosocial Outcomes in Third Age University and Nursing Home Residents","Comparison of the Effects of a Social Work-Supported Physiotherapy Intervention on Psychosocial Well-Being and Social Health Levels Within the ICF Framework Among Third Age University Students and Nursing Home Residents","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Being between 60 and 80 years of age\n* Being informed about the study and providing written informed consent for voluntary participation\n* Not having any physical, cognitive, or psychological limitations that would prevent participation in the physiotherapy interventions and assessments\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Having uncontrolled cardiovascular, neurological, psychiatric, or orthopedic conditions that may medically contraindicate participation in the physiotherapy intervention\n* Having cognitive, psychological, or mental impairments that would prevent the reliable administration of the assessments\n* Having undergone a major surgical procedure within the last 6 months that could affect the research process",true,"60 Years","80 Years",{"count":115,"type":21},48,[24],"The aging process is considered not only as a phase characterized by changes in physical functioning, but also as a multidimensional life stage affecting psychosocial well-being, social participation, and quality of life. The World Health Organization's healthy aging approach and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health emphasize that the health status of older adults should be evaluated through the interaction of biological, psychological, and social dimensions. The literature indicates that physical activity and rehabilitation-based interventions not only improve functionality in older individuals but also enhance psychological well-being and social participation; however, the sustainability of these gains is largely determined by social support and environmental factors. In this context, the integration of social work and physiotherapy practices has gained importance in terms of interdisciplinary and holistic intervention models in elderly care.\n\nThe aim of this study is to comparatively examine the effects of a social work-supported physiotherapy intervention, implemented among students enrolled in a Third Age University (60+ Refresher University) and older adults living in a nursing home in Turkey, on functionality, psychosocial well-being, and social health levels within the ICF framework. The study is designed as a pretest-posttest controlled quasi-experimental research model. The study population consists of students of Munzur 60+ Refresher University and individuals aged 60 and over residing in a nursing home in Tunceli. Participants selected through stratified random sampling will be assigned to intervention and control groups. A 6-week social work-supported physiotherapy program will be implemented for the intervention groups by physiotherapists and social workers.
