This randomized controlled trial will evaluate whether a multicomponent nighttime sleep-promotion intervention, called the Triple Sleep-Promotion Protocol, can reduce the occurrence of new-onset delirium in adult ICU patients.\n\nThe study is being conducted in four ICUs in Türkiye. Eligible patients who do not have delirium at the beginning of the study will be randomly assigned to either the intervention group or the control group. The intervention includes clustering nighttime nursing care, offering an eye mask and earplugs during protected sleep periods, and reducing avoidable nighttime light and noise whenever clinically feasible. Patients in the control group will receive usual ICU care. Patient safety and clinically necessary care will take priority over all sleep-promotion procedures.\n\nParticipants will be followed during their ICU stay for up to five days. Delirium will be assessed twice daily using the Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit (CAM-ICU). Nighttime sleep quality will also be assessed each morning using the Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire. The primary aim is to determine whether the Triple Sleep-Promotion Protocol reduces the incidence of new-onset delirium compared with usual ICU care.",[26],"Delirium Confusional State",[28,29,30,31],"Intensive Care Unit","Sleep Promotion","Delirium Prevention","Nursing Intervention","RECRUITING","2026-09-03",{"date":35,"type":36},"2026-09-09","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":36},"2026-08-15",{"date":40,"type":20},"2027-03",{"name":42,"class":43},"Naile ALANKAYA","OTHER",1,{"id":46,"slug":47,"hasResults":11,"nctId":48,"briefTitle":49,"officialTitle":50,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":51,"healthyVolunteers":52,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":55,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":61,"overallStatus":32,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":68,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":69,"startDateStruct":71,"completionDateStruct":73,"leadSponsor":75,"locationsCount":44},"100652845","case-based-collaborative-learning-for-arrhythmia-recognition-in-novice-intensive-care-nurses-100652845","NCT07780448","Case-Based Collaborative Learning for Arrhythmia Recognition in Novice Intensive Care Nurses","Effect of Case-Based Collaborative Learning on Arrhythmia Recognition and Patient Safety Attitudes Among Novice Intensive Care Nurses: A Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Newly graduated nurses with less than one year of professional nursing experience\n* Currently working in the coronary intensive care unit or cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit\n* Voluntary participation in the study\n* Provision of written informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Previous participation in a structured arrhythmia or ECG training program",true,{"count":54,"type":20},72,[23],"This randomized controlled trial evaluates the effectiveness of case-based collaborative learning (CBCL) in improving arrhythmia recognition and patient safety attitudes among novice intensive care nurses. Newly graduated nurses with less than one year of professional nursing experience working in coronary or cardiovascular surgery intensive care units are randomly assigned to an intervention or control group.\n\nBoth groups participate in the institution's routine orientation process for newly employed intensive care nurses. In addition, the intervention group receives a structured CBCL-based arrhythmia education program delivered in two 120-minute sessions over two consecutive weeks. The program uses clinical case scenarios, ECG tracings, individual assessment, small-group collaborative discussion, shared clinical decision-making, and structured feedback. The control group receives no additional study-specific arrhythmia education during the study period.\n\nThe primary outcome is arrhythmia recognition and awareness, and the secondary outcome is patient safety attitudes. Outcomes are assessed at baseline and at the three-month follow-up in both groups. An additional immediate post-intervention assessment is conducted in the intervention group to examine short-term changes following the educational program.",[58,59,60],"Arrhythmia Recognition","Patient Safety Attitudes","Arrhythmia",[62,58,63,64,65,66,67],"Case-Based Collaborative Learning","Electrocardiography","Patient Safety","Intensive Care Nursing","Novice Nurses","Nursing Education","2026-08-24",{"date":70,"type":36},"2026-08-26",{"date":72,"type":36},"2026-08-01",{"date":74,"type":20},"2026-12",{"name":42,"class":43},""]
