Early breast cancer is treated surgically with wide local excision of tumor with axillary staging operations like sentinel node biopsy. Surgical adjuncts used in identifying and localizing the area for excision include metallic wire, radioactive or magnetic seeds and radiofrequency reflectors. These are placed in the lesion under image guidance by the breast radiologists, either on the day of surgery (wires) or prior (seeds). Bracketing localization is performed in case of multiple lesions or wide spread calcifications to aid the surgeons in performing wide local excision of all involved areas. This means placing multiple devices around the area of excision for accurate triangulation, which increase the costs significantly.\n\nLocalization agents like radionucleotide labelled albumin, super paramagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) and colored dyes like methylene blue, isosulphane blue and indocyanine green are injected in the breast for identification of sentinel lymph nodes in the axilla.\n\nMore recent studies have demonstrated successful use of SPIO in localization of small impalpable breast cancer lesions. This also raises the prospect of using SPIO for the dual purpose of lesion localization \u002F bracketing and sentinel node biopsy. This study was designed to test this principle in patients requiring bracketing.\n\nThis is a prospective proof-of-concept pilot study to evaluate the feasibility of SPIO (Magtrace®) as a single-agent solution for bracketing the excision area and localizing the sentinel lymph node for breast-conserving surgery. Patients with breast cancer requiring bracketing and sentinel node biopsy will be identified through multidisciplinary breast tumor board and invited to take part in the study. All patients who consent to participate will receive an injection of Magtrace® for bracketing (0.5ml each at four points around the excision area) one day before surgery under ultrasound guidance. Primary outcome will be successful localization of the Magtrace® signal in breast for bracketing and in the sentinel node, using a magnetic probe on the day of surgery. Clinical outcomes, complications and cost analyses will be performed as secondary outcomes. We anticipate a sample size of 35 patients to be recruited for the study.",[27,28,29,30,31],"Breast Cancer With Low to Intermediate HER2 Expression","Breast Cancer (Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC))","Breast Cancer (Triple Negative Type)","Breast Cancer - Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma","Breast Cancer - Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS)",[33,34,35,36,37],"Breast cancer","Breast conserving surgery","Sentinel node biopsy","Magtrace","Super paramagnetic iron oxide","RECRUITING","2026-09-21",{"date":41,"type":42},"2026-09-28","ACTUAL",{"date":44,"type":42},"2026-07-24",{"date":46,"type":21},"2029-08-31",{"name":48,"class":49},"King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center","OTHER",1,{"id":52,"slug":53,"hasResults":11,"nctId":54,"briefTitle":55,"officialTitle":56,"acronym":57,"eligibilityCriteria":58,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":59,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":61,"phases":4,"briefSummary":62,"conditions":63,"keywords":65,"overallStatus":76,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":77,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":78,"startDateStruct":80,"completionDateStruct":82,"leadSponsor":84,"locationsCount":4},"100657163","senocohort-identification-of-predictive-biomarkers-in-breast-cancer-treatment-100657163","NCT07833891","Senocohort: Identification of Predictive Biomarkers in Breast Cancer Treatment","Recherche de Biomarqueurs prédictifs de réponse ou de résistance Dans Les Traitements Des Cancers du Sein","SENOCOHORT","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age ≥ 18 years\n* Histologically confirmed breast cancer\n* Managed at Saint-Louis Hospital\n* No opposition to participation in research\n* Affiliation to the French national health system\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Expressed opposition to research\n* Legal incapacity or under legal protection\n* Patients under State Medical Aid (AME)",{"count":60,"type":21},500,"OBSERVATIONAL","Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease with multiple molecular subtypes, each requiring tailored therapeutic strategies. The recent introduction of targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and antibody-drug conjugates has expanded treatment options, yet their efficacy varies depending on tumor subtype. This non-interventional study aims to identify novel predictive biomarkers of response or resistance to these emerging therapies. The Senocohort study will prospectively collect clinical, biological, imaging, and organoid-derived data from breast cancer patients, with a focus on hormone receptor-negative tumors.
