Although the World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, breastfeeding continuation rates remain suboptimal in many countries, including Türkiye.\n\nThis randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effect of breastfeeding education combined with a web portal and mobile application-supported breastfeeding counseling on perceived insufficient milk supply, breastfeeding intention, and breastfeeding adaptation among pregnant women.\n\nWomen at 37-39 weeks of gestation will be randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. Participants in the intervention group will receive individualized breastfeeding education during pregnancy, educational materials, postpartum breastfeeding support, and web portal- and mobile application-supported breastfeeding counseling. Participants in the control group will receive routine hospital care.\n\nData will be collected during pregnancy (baseline), immediately after birth, and at 1-, 3-, and 6-month postpartum follow-ups using validated scales assessing perceived insufficient milk supply, breastfeeding intention, and breastfeeding adaptation. Digital platform usage data, including the counseling topics accessed and the frequency of use, will also be evaluated in the intervention group.\n\nThis study is supported as a research project and aims to develop an accessible digital breastfeeding support model that may improve breastfeeding confidence, reduce perceived insufficient milk supply, and promote breastfeeding adaptation and continuation.",[28,29,30,31,32,33,34],"Breastfeeding","Breastfeeding Attitudes","Breastfeeding Education","Breastfeeding Initiation","Breastfeeding Support","Breastfeeding Consultancy Training","Breastfeeding Outcomes",[36,37,38,39,40,41],"Breastfeeding education","Breastfeeding Counseling","Perception of Insufficient Milk Supply","Web Portal Support","Breastfeeding Adaptation","Mobile Application","RECRUITING","2026-08-19",{"date":45,"type":46},"2026-08-20","ACTUAL",{"date":48,"type":46},"2026-07-20",{"date":50,"type":22},"2027-02-20",{"name":52,"class":53},"Aydin Adnan Menderes University","OTHER",1,{"id":56,"slug":57,"hasResults":11,"nctId":58,"briefTitle":59,"officialTitle":59,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":60,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":61,"minAge":62,"maxAge":63,"enrollmentInfo":64,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":66,"briefSummary":67,"conditions":68,"keywords":73,"overallStatus":78,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":79,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":80,"startDateStruct":82,"completionDateStruct":84,"leadSponsor":86,"locationsCount":54},"100615671","mobile-prenatal-education-for-expectant-fathers-and-its-effects-on-bonding-stress-breastfeeding-and-marital-satisfaction-100615671","NCT07295639","Mobile Prenatal Education for Expectant Fathers and Its Effects on Bonding, Stress, Breastfeeding and Marital Satisfaction","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age between 19 and 65 years\n* First-time father\n* Has become a father within the last month\n* Has a healthy newborn without congenital anomalies or chronic illnesses\n* Does not have a premature or low-birth-weight baby\n* Has not become a father through adoption\n* Owns a mobile phone capable of accessing the mobile-based application\n* Has an Android or iOS operating system\n* Has not received any infant care training within the last 6 months\n* Has no physical or mental disability that would prevent viewing, hearing, or understanding the research questions or educational content\n* Voluntarily agrees to participate in the research\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Declines to participate in the research\n* Does not own a smartphone\n* Cannot use mobile applications\n* Has a physical or mental condition that prevents completing the questionnaires\n* Has a baby with congenital anomalies or chronic medical conditions\n* Has a premature or low-birth-weight baby\n* Has received infant care training within the last 6 months\n* Has adopted a child\n* Is outside the 19-65 age range","MALE","19 Years","65 Years",{"count":65,"type":22},80,[25],"The aim of this interventional clinical trial is to assess whether a mobile-based antenatal education programme for expectant fathers has a positive effect on father-infant bonding, stress levels, and breastfeeding attitudes.\n\nThe study aims to answer the following main questions:\n\nDoes participation in a mobile-based prenatal education programme strengthen fathers' emotional bonds with their babies? Does the education reduce fathers' stress levels during the prenatal and postnatal periods? Does it increase the father's knowledge and supportive attitude towards breastfeeding? Researchers will compare whether there are measurable differences in attachment, stress, and breastfeeding attitudes between the intervention group (fathers receiving mobile-based education) and the control group (fathers receiving standard routine information).\n\nParticipants: Will complete pre- and post-intervention questionnaires assessing attachment, stress, and breastfeeding attitudes.\n\nThe intervention group will have access to a six-module mobile application covering topics such as infant care, nutrition, sleep routines, health and safety, emotional development, and daily care practices.\n\nThe study will be conducted with fathers aged 19-65 who became fathers within the last month and voluntarily agreed to participate.",[29,69,70,71,72],"Breast Feeding","Paternal Behavior","Health Education","Parent-Child Relations",[74,75,76,77],"father-infant bonding","paternal stress","breastfeeding attitudes","mobile-based education","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-12-16",{"date":81,"type":46},"2025-12-19",{"date":83,"type":22},"2026-01",{"date":85,"type":22},"2026-10",{"name":87,"class":53},"Gaziantep Islam Science and Technology University"]
