Although the World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, breastfeeding continuation rates remain suboptimal in many countries, including Türkiye.\n\nThis randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effect of breastfeeding education combined with a web portal and mobile application-supported breastfeeding counseling on perceived insufficient milk supply, breastfeeding intention, and breastfeeding adaptation among pregnant women.\n\nWomen at 37-39 weeks of gestation will be randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. Participants in the intervention group will receive individualized breastfeeding education during pregnancy, educational materials, postpartum breastfeeding support, and web portal- and mobile application-supported breastfeeding counseling. Participants in the control group will receive routine hospital care.\n\nData will be collected during pregnancy (baseline), immediately after birth, and at 1-, 3-, and 6-month postpartum follow-ups using validated scales assessing perceived insufficient milk supply, breastfeeding intention, and breastfeeding adaptation. Digital platform usage data, including the counseling topics accessed and the frequency of use, will also be evaluated in the intervention group.\n\nThis study is supported as a research project and aims to develop an accessible digital breastfeeding support model that may improve breastfeeding confidence, reduce perceived insufficient milk supply, and promote breastfeeding adaptation and continuation.",[28,29,30,31,32,33,34],"Breastfeeding","Breastfeeding Attitudes","Breastfeeding Education","Breastfeeding Initiation","Breastfeeding Support","Breastfeeding Consultancy Training","Breastfeeding Outcomes",[36,37,38,39,40,41],"Breastfeeding education","Breastfeeding Counseling","Perception of Insufficient Milk Supply","Web Portal Support","Breastfeeding Adaptation","Mobile Application","RECRUITING","2026-08-19",{"date":45,"type":46},"2026-08-20","ACTUAL",{"date":48,"type":46},"2026-07-20",{"date":50,"type":22},"2027-02-20",{"name":52,"class":53},"Aydin Adnan Menderes University","OTHER",1,{"id":56,"slug":57,"hasResults":11,"nctId":58,"briefTitle":59,"officialTitle":60,"acronym":61,"eligibilityCriteria":62,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":63,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":65,"briefSummary":66,"conditions":67,"keywords":76,"overallStatus":82,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":83,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":84,"startDateStruct":86,"completionDateStruct":88,"leadSponsor":90,"locationsCount":54},"100616738","effectiveness-of-a-counseling-program-on-exclusive-breastfeeding-rates-in-a-primary-care-center-100616738","NCT07309510","Effectiveness of a Counseling Program on Exclusive Breastfeeding Rates in a Primary Care Center","Effectiveness of a Counseling Program on Exclusive Breastfeeding Rates in a Primary Care Center in A Coruña.Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial","ALM-AP","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Mothers who express a desire to breastfeed during a follow-up consultation with the Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing specialist at 36 weeks of gestation.\n* Mothers who plan to give birth at HMI of CHUAC, referred from the C.S. The practice confers numerous advantages for the infant and the mother. Many breasfeeding are abandoned early due difficulties experienced after dischargue and after returning to work. Development specific early breastfeeding support programs in the community is necessary to avoid unwanted abandonment.\n\nObjective: To analyse the differences in BF rates at six month of birth in healthy full-term newborns between the study groups.\n\nMethodology: Pilot study of a randomised clinical trial carried out in a Paediatric Nursing clinic at the Ventorrillo Health Centre in A Coruña. The study population will be mothers of healthy full-term newborns who wish to give BF at the time of delivery and whose reference health centre is the one of the study. The mother- newborn dyads in the control group (CG) will receive the usual care described in the child health Program of the Galician Health Service, and the dyads included in the intervention group (IG) will also receive specific advice on breastfeeding during the first 6 months of life. A study sample of 80 participants is estimated for each group. The study will be approved by the Research Ethics Committee of A Coruña-Ferrol.
