Care staff will have responsibility for the personal care of residents (aged 65+ years) within the care home setting. This includes agency staff with at least 6-months experience working in care homes.\n* Staff working in the residential care home sector (e.g. care home managers) and in regular contact with care home residents (e.g. nursing staff) will also be eligible to participate.\n* Care homes will be providing 24\u002F7 in-person support, and this is inclusive of residential care home, nursing care homes, specialist dementia care or nursing home, dual-registered care homes and extra care housing (assisted living or very sheltered housing).\n* All geographical regions in England inclusive of multi-ethnic, urban, and rural populations.\n* Aged over 18 years of age.\n\nTask 2 Qualitative interviews\n\n* Care home staff (including carers, care home managers and nursing staff) currently working in the care home environment and with at least 6-months' experience of working in this environment, with experience of providing personal care. This includes agency staff.\n* Care home residents with experience of foot care needs.\n* Family\u002Ffriends of residents who are involved in their care planning\u002Fprovision.\n* Family caregivers will include spousal, sibling, and parent\u002Fchild relations.\n* All participants must have capacity to give informed consent.\n* All participants must be able to take part in an interview in English.\n* Aged over 18 years of age.\n* Where a virtual interview is requested, access to the appropriate technology.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\nTask 1 National Survey\n\n* Residents living within care home and\u002For their family members.\n* Care staff working in non-care home sector(s) e.g. domiciliary care.\n* Staff in non- care roles (e.g. catering or maintenance)\n\nTask 2 Qualitative interviews\n\n* Care staff working in non-care home sector(s) e.g. domiciliary care.\n* Staff in non- care roles (e.g. catering or maintenance)\n* Those determined not to have mental capacity to consent to participation, in line with the Mental Capacity Act.\n* Care home residents with communication impairments which would preclude participation in the interview even with reasonable adjustments.\n* Unable to take part in an interview in English language.","ALL","18 Years",{"count":20,"type":21},200,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","The aim of this observational study is to: (1) describe current knowledge and practices related to foot care in care homes; (2) understand how care home staff, residents and\u002For family caregivers perceive foot care knowledge and practices.
