The exercise program is organized and delivered by the Santoña Town Council as part of its public health services for older residents and is not created for research purposes; it will continue regardless of the outcome of this study. Researchers are only evaluating participants who voluntarily agree to be assessed before and after each 36-week cycle of the program, over four consecutive academic years (2026-2030). The main question this study aims to answer is whether continued participation in this real-world, community-based multicomponent exercise program (based on the Vivifrail model) leads to meaningful improvements in physical function, muscle strength, and cardiorespiratory capacity, and helps reverse indicators of frailty and sarcopenia in independent, community-dwelling older adults. Participants will complete functional and physical tests, including balance, gait speed, chair-stand performance, handgrip strength, and a 6-minute walk test, at the start and end of each 36-week exercise cycle. No blood or biological samples will be collected.",[25,26,27],"Frailty\u002FSarcopenia","Frailty in Older Adults","Sarcopenia",[29,30,31,32,33,27,34,35,36,37],"Multicomponent exercise","Community-based exercise program","Older adults","Physical function","Frailty prevention","Muscle strength","Cardiorespiratory fitness","Fall prevention","Real-world effectiveness","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-07-28",{"date":41,"type":42},"2026-07-30","ACTUAL",{"date":44,"type":19},"2026-10-01",{"date":46,"type":19},"2030-07-31",{"name":48,"class":49},"Universidad de Granada","OTHER",1,{"id":52,"slug":53,"hasResults":11,"nctId":54,"briefTitle":55,"officialTitle":56,"acronym":57,"eligibilityCriteria":58,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":15,"minAge":59,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":60,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":62,"phases":4,"briefSummary":63,"conditions":64,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":66,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":67,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":68,"startDateStruct":70,"completionDateStruct":72,"leadSponsor":74,"locationsCount":50},"100584454","comparison-of-preoperative-frailty-assessment-tools-100584454","NCT06889545","Comparison of Preoperative Frailty Assessment Tools","Evaluation of a Feasible Frailty Assessment Tool for Preoperative Risk Evaluation of Older Patients","PREFAS","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* 70 years and older\n* scheduled surgery\n* estimated time of surgery 120 Minutes or more\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* insufficient German language skills (for cognitive testing)\n* mental retardation\n* relevant psychiatric disorder (not allowing for cognitive testing)","70 Years",{"count":61,"type":19},584,"OBSERVATIONAL","Frailty is a significant risk factor for postoperative complications and functional decline. Preoperative assessment of frailty is therefore recommended in all older adults.
