Hotspots will be defined as the households (HHs) surrounding the RDT-positive cholera case (around 20-40m radius). The 'Case area targeted interventions' (CATI) will be given by administrating Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) with either one dose or two doses of OCV 1 month apart among household contacts (≥1-year age and non-pregnant women) and contacts of the contacts residing in the adjacent HHs. The passive surveillance for cholera will be followed using the icddr,b hospital, and other health facilities. Data on each individual's states of the clusters (e.g., susceptible, exposed, infectious, or recovered) will be tracked throughout the 3 years study follow-up.",[27,28],"Cholera","Methodology Study",[27,30,31,32],"CATI","Cholera Vaccine","Bangladesh","RECRUITING","2026-07-01",{"date":36,"type":37},"2026-07-06","ACTUAL",{"date":39,"type":37},"2024-09-05",{"date":41,"type":21},"2029-12-31",{"name":43,"class":44},"International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh","OTHER",1,{"id":47,"slug":48,"hasResults":11,"nctId":49,"briefTitle":50,"officialTitle":50,"acronym":51,"eligibilityCriteria":52,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":17,"minAge":53,"maxAge":54,"enrollmentInfo":55,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":57,"phases":4,"briefSummary":58,"conditions":59,"keywords":64,"overallStatus":33,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":71,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":72,"startDateStruct":74,"completionDateStruct":76,"leadSponsor":78,"locationsCount":45},"100548631","probing-the-efficacy-of-commercial-stage-storage-buffers-and-evaluating-gut-metaproteome-variability-between-individuals-100548631","NCT06423508","PRObing The Efficacy of Commercial Stage Storage Buffers and Evaluating Gut Metaproteome Variability Between Individuals","PROTEGI","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* agreeing to participate after signing the informed consent form and\n* being 18-70 years old.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* take antibiotics during the previous 1 month\n* had undergone gastrointestinal surgery","18 Years","70 Years",{"count":56,"type":21},52,"OBSERVATIONAL","The study aims to assess the effectiveness of various commercial and non-hazardous buffers for the storage of human gut fecal samples over time. This evaluation will be conducted by comparing the performance of these buffers against directly frozen samples using metaproteomic analysis. The study is motivated by the need for standardized protocols for sample preservation in metaproteomic research, particularly focusing on protein preservation in fecal samples. By investigating proteomic, taxonomic, and functional identifications, the research seeks to provide insights into the reliability of these buffers as storage solutions. Additionally, the study plans to explore inter- and intra-individual variabilities at the proteome level by periodically collecting fecal samples from volunteers, complementing existing knowledge in metaproteomics. Overall, the study addresses a critical gap in the field and has the potential to enhance reproducibility and comparability across metaproteomic studies",[60,61,28,62,63],"Gut Microbiome","Buffer","Fecal Microbiota","Variability",[65,66,67,68,69,70],"storage buffer","fecal samples","human gut microbiome","metaproteomics","intra-individual variability","inter-individual variability","2025-03-24",{"date":73,"type":37},"2025-03-25",{"date":75,"type":37},"2024-12-03",{"date":77,"type":21},"2025-09-30",{"name":79,"class":44},"University of Vienna"]
