There is a growing body of evidence indicating the significant contribution of the gut microbiome to host health and disease. Furthermore, it has been shown that exercise may modify the microbiome composition. However, important mechanistic questions related to the possible associations between exercise and the human gut microbiome remain unanswered.\n\nIn this study, the investigators are using advanced state-of-the-art measurements of physical activity level and related metabolic parameters whether there is a connection between the microbiome and physical abilities in healthy participants and whether antibiotics consumption can influence host physical abilities and glycemic responses through changes induced in microbiome composition and function.",[27,28],"Physical Abilities","FMT","RECRUITING","2026-10-07",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-10-13","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2022-06-29",{"date":37,"type":21},"2029-12-31",{"name":39,"class":40},"Assaf-Harofeh Medical Center","OTHER_GOV",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":48,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":50,"minAge":51,"maxAge":52,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":55,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":63,"overallStatus":69,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":70,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":71,"startDateStruct":73,"completionDateStruct":75,"leadSponsor":77,"locationsCount":41},"100653615","aerobic-strength-kegel-ask-exercise-intervention-perceptions-for-postpartum-health-100653615","NCT07790289","Aerobic, Strength, Kegel (ASK) Exercise Intervention Perceptions for Postpartum Health","Aerobic, Strength, Kegel (ASK) Exercise Intervention Perceptions for Postpartum Health: a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial","ASK","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Female Asian postpartum women aged 18 to 45 years\n* Singleton pregnancy\n* 6 to 8 weeks postpartum at the time of enrolment\n* Medically stable after childbirth\n* Physically able to participate in low-to-moderate intensity exercise training\n* Able and willing to participate in the 12-week study programme\n* Able to use the study app and wearable device, or willing to receive instruction on their use\n* Able to provide written informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Multiple pregnancy\n* Severe postpartum medical complications or conditions contraindicating exercise participation\n* Severe cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, or major musculoskeletal conditions that may limit safe participation in exercise\n* Current use of medication likely to substantially affect cardiac function, including heart failure therapy\n* Antibiotic treatment within the preceding month\n* Severe mental illness or other condition affecting the ability to provide informed consent or comply with study procedures\n* Any medical, obstetric, or psychological condition judged by the research team or attending clinician to make participation unsafe or inappropriate\n* Inability or unwillingness to adhere to the 12-week ASK programme or study assessments","FEMALE","18 Years","45 Years",{"count":54,"type":21},40,[24],"The goal of this pilot clinical trial is to learn whether a 12-week home-based exercise programme is feasible, acceptable, and safe for postpartum women in Hong Kong who had hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. The exercise programme is called the Aerobic, Strength, and Kegel exercise programme, or ASK programme.\n\nThe main questions this study aims to answer are:\n\n* Can postpartum women follow the ASK exercise programme at home?\n* Is the ASK exercise programme acceptable and safe?\n* Does the ASK exercise programme show early benefits for postpartum recovery and health?\n\nResearchers will compare women who receive the ASK exercise programme with women who receive standard postnatal care.\n\nParticipants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. They will complete study assessments at the beginning of the study and after 12 weeks. Women in the ASK exercise programme group will complete three 60-minute exercise sessions per week for 12 weeks, supported by a mobile app and wearable device. Women in the standard postnatal care group will continue to receive usual postnatal care.",[58,59,60,27,61,62],"Quality of Life","Body Composition","Sleep","Cardiometabolic Health","Postpartum Health",[64,65,66,67,68],"Postpartum health","Postpartum exercise","Pelvic floor muscle training","Cardiometabolic health","Pilot randomized controlled trial","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-09-01",{"date":72,"type":33},"2026-09-03",{"date":74,"type":21},"2026-12-01",{"date":76,"type":21},"2029-11-30",{"name":78,"class":79},"Chinese University of Hong Kong","OTHER"]
