Research published by Maussudi et al. 2012 demonstrated that skin NAD+ levels were negatively correlated with age in both males and females, and aged skin was also correlated to an increase in DNA damage. Therefore, it is proposed that supporting skin NAD+ with precursors such as NR may be a strategy to combat DNA damage that leads to undesirable signs of skin aging, thus supporting skin cell resilience. The use of NR as a dietary supplement has produced effective, efficient, and reproducible increases in NAD+ in humans. However, the role of topically applied NR for skin aging requires further investigation.\n\nThough not measuring NAD+ directly, this study will explore if topically applied NR reduces the signs of skin aging that may result from cellular NAD+ deficiency. It is hypothesized that the addition of NR to a general skin care regimen will result in healthier, more youthful appearing skin over 12 weeks.\n\nThe goal of this interventional clinical trial is to identify the most effective, tolerable, and efficient dose of NR for attenuating quantitative and qualitative indicators of facial skin aging in women ages 30-60. The three primary outcome measures are\n\n* Changes in skin biological age,\n* Quantitative reduction in fine lines and wrinkles near the eye, and\n* Changes in skin firmness and tightening.\n\nSecondary quantitative and qualitative outcomes include\n\n* Changes to pores, texture, redness, skin tone evenness, radiance, plumpness, and firmness on the global face.\n* Changes in skin moisture and skin barrier integrity, and\n* Participant perception of perceived efficacy, acceptability, and irritation.\n\nSkin imaging will also be employed in the study.\n\nParticipants will be randomized into one of four test product groups:\n\n* Placebo\n* 2.5% NR,\n* 5% NR, or\n* 10% NR.\n\nThe test product will be provided in a dry nanofiber sachet, and the percentage of NR is an estimate based on the final concentration of the applied material when mixed in serum.\n\nFollowing facial cleansing with the provided cleanser, study participants will prepare the test product (immediately before application) by dissolving a single sachet in the provided standardized gel serum. Following application, participants will apply the provided moisturizer and UV serum. Product application will occur twice daily for 84 days (12 weeks). In-clinic assessments will be performed at baseline and days 28, 56, and 84. Participants will also complete at home questionnaires on days 14 and 42. Adverse events and responses will be documented in participant diaries and immediately reported to the clinical research team.",[29,30,31,32],"Skin Aging on Face","Skin Care Dermocosmetics","Skin Care","Fine Lines and Wrinkles",[34,35,36,37,38,39,40],"nicotinamide riboside","niacinamide riboside","nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide","skin aging","skin aging clock","topical","skin care","RECRUITING","2026-08-19",{"date":44,"type":45},"2026-08-21","ACTUAL",{"date":47,"type":45},"2026-08-17",{"date":49,"type":23},"2027-03-31",{"name":51,"class":52},"ChromaDex, Inc.","INDUSTRY",1,{"id":55,"slug":56,"hasResults":11,"nctId":57,"briefTitle":58,"officialTitle":59,"acronym":60,"eligibilityCriteria":61,"healthyVolunteers":17,"sex":62,"minAge":63,"maxAge":64,"enrollmentInfo":65,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":24,"phases":67,"briefSummary":68,"conditions":69,"keywords":71,"overallStatus":74,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":75,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":76,"startDateStruct":78,"completionDateStruct":80,"leadSponsor":82,"locationsCount":53},"100573913","evaluation-of-the-ef192b-protection-versus-no-treatment-100573913","NCT06752460","Evaluation of the EF192B Protection Versus No Treatment","Randomized, Open Clinical Study to Evaluate the Protective Potential of EF192B Versus No Treatment","Spray B","Inclusion criteria\n\n* Age between 18 and 70 years old.\n* Fitzpatrick skin phototype classification I to IV.\n* Presence of intact skin in the test region (right forearm and left forearm for selected participants).\n* Agreement to adhere to the study procedures and requirements and attend the institute on the days and times determined for the assessments.\n* Signing of the Informed Consent Form (ICF) and the Image Disclosure Consent Form (IDCF) before carrying out any study procedure.\n\nExclusion Criteria\n\n* Diagnosis of skin diseases such as vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis.\n* Diagnosis of immunological insufficiency.\n* Use of systemic corticosteroids or immunosuppressants.\n* Diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus or insulin-dependent diabetes or presence of complications resulting from diabetes (such as retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy), presence of diabetes-related dermatoses (such as plantar ulcers, lipoid necrobiosis, granuloma annulare, opportunistic infections), history of episodes of hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis and\u002For hyperosmolar coma.\n* History of reaction to liquid dressings.\n* Known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of investigational product formulation.\n* Other diseases or use of drugs that may directly interfere with the study or put the research participant's health at risk.\n* Presence of any serious or uncontrolled diseases, at the investigator's discretion.\n* Pregnancy or lactation.\n* Participation in a clinical research protocol in the last 12 months, unless, at the investigator's discretion, their participation in the study may result in direct benefit to the participant.\n* Presence of any conditions that, at the investigator's discretion, make the participant unable to participate in the study.","ALL","18 Years","70 Years",{"count":66,"type":23},72,[26],"This study was designed with the objective of evaluating the protection potential provided by the experimental product EF192B by evaluating its barrier formation capacity.
