However, most recurrences are detected at 12 months, are small and unifocal, and can be easily resected endoscopically. Furthermore, thermal margin ablation has demonstrated a reduction in recurrence rates to 5-6%, highlighting the need to optimize current surveillance protocols, which are costly, invasive, and impose a significant clinical burden.\n\nThe multicenter SCARFACE clinical trial aims to evaluate whether a reduced surveillance protocol (at 12 and 48 months) is non-inferior to the standard protocol (at 6, 12, and 48 months) in terms of recurrence rates, using a predefined non-inferiority margin. This non-inferiority design aims to determine if the reduced protocol maintains acceptable efficacy while reducing clinical workload and minimizing risks and discomfort associated with intensive follow-up.\n\nPatients will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio into the two surveillance protocols, with an estimated sample size of 746 lesions. The primary objective is to compare the cumulative incidence of recurrence at 12 months. Secondary objectives include characterizing recurrences, assessing complications associated with endoscopic treatments and evaluating the incidence of advanced colorectal lesions. The findings of this study are expected to directly impact clinical guidelines and routine practice, optimizing resource utilization and improving patient quality of life.",[27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34],"Colorectal Neoplasms","Adenoma Colon","Colonic Polyps","Serrated Adenoma","Endoscopic Mucosal Resection","Non-pedunculated Lesions","Thermal Ablation","Recurrence","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-01-19",{"date":38,"type":39},"2025-01-24","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":21},"2025-03-01",{"date":43,"type":21},"2030-05-31",{"name":45,"class":46},"Asociación Española de Gastroenterología","OTHER",{"id":48,"slug":49,"hasResults":11,"nctId":50,"briefTitle":51,"officialTitle":51,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":52,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":55,"studyType":56,"phases":4,"briefSummary":57,"conditions":58,"keywords":60,"overallStatus":62,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":63,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":64,"startDateStruct":66,"completionDateStruct":68,"leadSponsor":70,"locationsCount":72},"100513240","a-study-of-factors-influencing-recurrence-after-thermal-ablation-of-papillary-thyroid-carcinoma-100513240","NCT05962892","A Study of Factors Influencing Recurrence After Thermal Ablation of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n①≥18 years old; ② Obtain informed consent; ③ Ultrasonography showed that malignant nodules were single, the maximum diameter of nodules was ≤1cm and the distance from the capsule was ≥2mm. ④ no lymph node metastasis or other extra-glandular metastasis in the neck; ⑤ PTC was confirmed by fine needle puncture pathology; ⑥ Patients who do not meet Article 3, who still strongly request thermal ablation while fully informing the patient of the risk of recurrence, and who have been clinically assessed to be technically capable of thermal ablation Exclusion Criteria:① Pregnant or lactating patients; ② Patients with other malignant tumors and not suitable for ablation by clinical evaluation; ③ Patients who cannot tolerate surgery; ④ Patients with cognitive impairment and other conditions who cannot accurately fill in thyroid-related questionnaires.",{"count":54,"type":21},600,"5 Years","OBSERVATIONAL","A prospective cohort of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC), patients who received thermal ablation in our hospital since February 2023 was established as the study object.
