Emergency drainage is typically achieved by either retrograde ureteral stent (RUS) insertion or percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN). Following clinical stabilization and resolution of infection, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is commonly performed as definitive stone treatment.\n\nThis prospective comparative study aims to evaluate and compare the outcomes of subsequent PCNL between patients who underwent emergency drainage via retrograde ureteral stent and those who underwent percutaneous nephrostomy. The main outcomes to be compared include stone-free rates, operative time, blood loss, postoperative complications, length of hospital stay, and the need for auxiliary procedures.",[26,27],"Urosepsis","Kidney Stone","RECRUITING","2026-09-13",{"date":31,"type":32},"2026-09-17","ACTUAL",{"date":34,"type":20},"2026-10",{"date":36,"type":20},"2028-06",{"name":38,"class":39},"Beni-Suef University","OTHER",1,{"id":42,"slug":43,"hasResults":11,"nctId":44,"briefTitle":45,"officialTitle":45,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":46,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":47,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":49,"phases":4,"briefSummary":50,"conditions":51,"keywords":53,"overallStatus":28,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":59,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":60,"startDateStruct":62,"completionDateStruct":64,"leadSponsor":66,"locationsCount":40},"100413922","serum-endotoxin-assay-to-predict-the-development-of-postoperative-infectious-complications-and-systemic-inflammatory-response-following-percutaneous-nephrolithotomy-100413922","NCT04669886","Serum Endotoxin Assay to Predict the Development of Postoperative Infectious Complications and Systemic Inflammatory Response Following Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy.","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adults that is able to consent (≥ 18 years of age)\n* Scheduled to undergo PCNL at Uhealth tower and Jackson Memorial Hospitals\n* not currently immunosuppressed \\[White blood count (WBC) \\>= 2, not on immunosuppressive medications\\]\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* unable to consent and \\\u003C 18 years of age\n* currently immunosuppressed (WBC \\\u003C 2, not on immunosuppressive medications)",{"count":48,"type":20},150,"OBSERVATIONAL","The aim of the study is to establish an infectious risk stratification system based on pre-and post-operative blood endotoxin profile.",[52,26],"Nephrolithiasis",[54,55,56,57,58],"endotoxin","fever","infectious complications","endourology","percutaneous nephrolithotomy","2026-08-25",{"date":61,"type":32},"2026-08-27",{"date":63,"type":32},"2023-11-01",{"date":65,"type":20},"2027-12-30",{"name":67,"class":39},"University of Miami"]
