Orthodontic patients treated at Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from March 2025 to March 2027 will be recruited. Prior to orthodontic treatment, routine preoperative examinations will be conducted, informed consent forms will be signed, baseline oral conditions will be recorded, and oral and psychological-related questionnaires will be completed. Patients will be informed of the need for regular oral hygiene check-ups, caries risk assessments will be performed, and plaque, saliva, and intraoral photographs will be collected. During orthodontic treatment, plaque samples will be collected every 3 months, and saliva samples will be collected every 6 months until the treatment is completed to evaluate the changes in oral microbiota throughout the orthodontic process.",[26,27,28],"Orthodontics","White Spot Lesions [Initial Caries] on Smooth Surface of Tooth","Caries, Dental",[30],"microbiota","RECRUITING","2026-08-09",{"date":34,"type":35},"2026-08-12","ACTUAL",{"date":37,"type":35},"2025-07-01",{"date":39,"type":21},"2027-09-01",{"name":41,"class":42},"Xi'an Jiaotong University","OTHER",1,{"id":45,"slug":46,"hasResults":11,"nctId":47,"briefTitle":48,"officialTitle":49,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":50,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":51,"maxAge":52,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":55,"phases":56,"briefSummary":58,"conditions":59,"keywords":60,"overallStatus":31,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":62,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":63,"startDateStruct":65,"completionDateStruct":67,"leadSponsor":69,"locationsCount":43},"100649264","clinical-investigation-of-the-performance-of-epinamel-for-dental-white-spot-lesions-100649264","NCT07730359","Clinical Investigation of the Performance of Epinamel for Dental White Spot Lesions","A Pilot Clinical Investigation of the Performance of Epinamel for Dental White Spot Lesions","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* • Will have dental braces or brackets removed immediately prior to or up to 48 hours prior to potential study participation\n\n * Have at least one active non-cavitated carious lesions around the bracket area with a rough, chalky and matte surface (white spot lesions - WSLs) at each side of the mouth;\n * Have carious lesion which are fully visible, assessable and accessible;\n * Are able and willing to observe good oral hygiene throughout the study;\n * Have ≥20 teeth and a BPE score of \\\u003C3;\n * Have completed fixed orthodontic treatment within the past 24-120 hours.\n * Are aged 12-60 years\n * Are willing and able to attend the on-study visits;\n * Are willing and able to understand all study-related procedures;\n * Provide written informed consent (by parent\u002Fguardian if minor) before participation in the study.\n * No systemic diseases or concomitant medication affects salivary flow in order not to negatively affect the remineralising process.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* • Patients with known hypersensitivity to glutaraldehyde or any of the product's ingredients.\n\n * Patients with severe pulpitis or oral infections\n * Patients who are still be undergoing treatment using dental braces or brackets at time of study initiation\n * Patients who are vulnerable\n * Patients who are participating in another trial\n * Patients with tetracycline pigmentation, dental fluorosis, or enamel hypoplasia\n * Participants who had evidence of reduced salivary flow, systemic, or medical complications\n * Participants with cavitated lesions","12 Years","60 Years",{"count":54,"type":21},20,"INTERVENTIONAL",[57],"NA","Mintech-Bio Ltd is a UK-based start-up company which was created to turn 14 years of research from our co-founder Dr Alvaro Mata at Queen Mary University into a real-world product.\n\nLoss of tooth enamel from issues such as decay or erosion is a great cause of dental problems, affecting over half of people around the world. There is also evidence to suggest that having poor oral health may be connected to other health issues such as diabetes, heart problems, and lung infections like pneumonia.\n\nWhile treatments like fluoride varnishes and remineralization solutions can help with the effects of enamel loss, there's currently no easy-to-use option that actually regrows enamel in a way that closely matches the natural look and strength of real enamel.\n\nMintech-Bio has created a special gel that helps rebuild tooth enamel back to its natural strength and structure. This new invention could take the place of fluoride treatments and make a big difference in preventing tooth problems around the world. The purpose of this research study is to demonstrate the efficacy of the Epinamel device in the treatment of dental white-spot lesions.\n\nIf you meet all the screening criteria you will be entered into the study and shall have the device applied after the removal of dental braces. The main question it aims to answer is in patients with initial caries lesions will Moringa Oleifera varnish have same remineralization efficacy as MI Varnish after 6 months follow up? MI varnish will be used as a comparator as it has been shown in many studies to be superior to fluoride varnish with NaF alone in arresting early caries lesions. The active ingredient, CPP-ACP can slowly release, localize and stabilize amorphous calcium, phosphate, and fluoride on the enamel surface which aids in deep mineralization of white spot lesions.",[27,85],"Moringa Oleifera",[85,87,88,89,90,91],"MI varnish","white spot lesions","remineralization","DIAGNOdent","Nyvad criteria","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-03-25",{"date":95,"type":35},"2025-04-01",{"date":97,"type":21},"2025-05-01",{"date":99,"type":21},"2026-01-01",{"name":101,"class":42},"Cairo University"]
