About this trial

This study compares the effects of different ventilation strategies on patient safety and respiratory parameters during rigid bronchoscopy procedures. It enrolls patients undergoing the procedure at Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital, aiming to identify the optimal ventilation mode to reduce complications.

Eligibility criteria

This trial accepts healthy volunteers

Qualifiers

Patients scheduled for elective interventional rigid bronchoscopy, who agree to participate in this study and have no contraindications to anesthesia.

Disqualifiers

History of allergic reaction to anesthetic agents;

Pregnancy;

Severe dysfunction of the heart, lung, liver, kidney or other vital organs;

Cognitive impairment or neurological diseases;

Trial design

Design model

Parallel

Treatments tested in this trial

  • Jet Ventilation

    Procedure/Surgery

    Jet ventilation delivered throughout rigid bronchoscopy procedure

  • Spontaneous Assisted Ventilation

    Procedure/Surgery

    Spontaneous assisted ventilation applied during rigid bronchoscopy to preserve patients' spontaneous breathing

Treatment groups

150 Participants
are divided into 2 treatment groups
Group A: Jet VentilationActive comparator 1 intervention
Group B: Spontaneous Assisted VentilationExperimental treatment 1 intervention

Trial outcomes

Primary outcomes

1

peripheral oxygen saturation

Use pulse oximetry to continuously monitor and record peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO₂) values throughout the study period, to evaluate the incidence and duration of hypoxemia.

Time frame
From enrollment to study completion, continuous monitoring during the entire observation period

Secondary outcomes

1

arterial blood pH

Collect arterial blood pH values by arterial blood gas analysis to assess the acid-base status of subjects.

Time frame
Measurements will be performed 10 minutes after initiation of each respective ventilation mode.
2

arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide

Collect arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO₂) via arterial blood gas analysis.

Time frame
10 minutes after initiation of each ventilation mode
