About this trial

* P (Population): Participants in a clinical nursing training program at a certain university * I (Intervention): Theoretical instruction + training using a self-developed virtual simulation platform for emergency response to bioterrorism incidents; intervention duration: 4 weeks * C (Comparison): Traditional in-person training (theoretical lectures + practical exercises) * O (Outcome): Assessment of nursing staff's biosafety response capabilities using the Clinical Nurse Biosafety Response Scale

Eligibility criteria

This trial accepts healthy volunteers

Qualifiers

(1) Possession of a valid nurse practicing license; (2) Clinical work experience of ≥ 1 year; (3) Provision of informed consent and voluntary participation in this study.

Disqualifiers

(1)Participants who withdrew from the study midway; (2)Those who had participated in similar emergency-rescue-related training recently (within the past 3 months).

Treatments tested in this trial

  • Virtual simulation training on emergency response to bioterrorist attacks for nursing staff

    Other intervention

This study focused on a training program for school nursing staff, with participants from the first cohort serving as the control group and those from the second cohort as the intervention group. A non-concurrent controlled experiment was conducted: the control group received traditional in-person training consisting of theoretical instruction and practical exercises, while the intervention group received training that combined theoretical instruction with a virtual simulation training platform developed for this study.

Treatment groups

70 Participants
are divided into 2 treatment groups
Group A: Conventional face-to-face training on emergency response to bioterrorist attacksPlacebo comparator 1 intervention
Group B: Virtual simulation training for emergency response to bioterrorist attacksActive comparator 1 intervention

Trial outcomes

Primary outcomes

1

Biosafety incident response competence

The training effect among nurses was evaluated using the self-developed biosecurity incident response competence scale of our research group, which covers four dimensions: biosecurity incident monitoring and early-warning competence, nursing management competence for biosecurity incidents, biosecurity knowledge readiness, and biosecurity infection-protection competence.

Time frame
From enrollment to the completion of the four-week training.
