A Study of LY5625575 in Healthy Participants and in Participants With Inflammation (Elevated C-Reactive Protein)

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of LY5625575 in healthy participants (including Japanese and Chinese) and in participants with high levels of a marker for inflammation (C-reactive protein). The study will also measure how much LY5625575 gets into the bloodstream and how long it takes the body to get rid of it. The study will last seven to nine weeks.

CRP Apheresis in STEMI

Background: In patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), the amount of infarcted myocardium (infarct size) is known to be a major predictor for adverse remodeling and recurrent adverse cardiovascular events. Effective cardio-protective strategies with the aim of reducing infarct size are therefore of great interest. Local and systemic inflammation influences the fate of ischemic myocardium and thus, adverse remodeling and clinical outcome. C-reactive protein (CRP) also acts as a potential mechanistic mediator that adversely affects the amount of irreversible myocardial tissue damage after acute myocardial infarction. Objective: The main objectives of the current study are to investigate the efficacy of selective CRP apheresis, using the PentraSorb®-CRP system, as an adjunctive therapy to standard of care for patients with acute STEMI treated with primary PCI. Design: Investigator-initiated, prospective, randomized, open-label (outcome assessors masked), controlled, multicenter, two group trial with a two-stage adaptive design. Innovation: Selective CRP apheresis offers potential to decrease infarct size and consequently improve outcome after PCI for STEMI. This is the first randomized trial investigating the impact of selective CRP apheresis on infarct size in post-STEMI patients. In perspective, the study design allows furthermore to collect robust evidence for the design of a definitive outcome study.

A Study of Single and Multiple Doses of LY5625573 in Healthy Participants, Including Japanese and Chinese Populations, and Participants With Inflammation (High C-Reactive Protein)

The purpose of this study is to learn if LY5625573 is safe and how well it is tolerated in healthy participants, including Japanese and Chinese participants, and in participants with high levels of a marker for inflammation (C-reactive protein). The study will also look at how the body absorbs, breaks down, and clears the study drug (pharmacokinetics), how the study drug works in the body, and whether it interacts with certain other medications by affecting how the body processes them. Participation in the study will last up to approximately 7 weeks for Part A and 8.5 weeks for Parts B, C, D, and E. For each participant there will be one stay at the clinical research unit (CRU) lasting 5 nights for Part A, 18 nights for Parts B and C, and 17 nights for Parts D and E.

What is the Effect of Increased Consumption of Fruit Juice on Exercise Capacity and Inflammatory Biomarkers?

Dietary patterns and physical inactivity common in Western societies have been associated with chronic low-grade inflammation and an increased risk of non-communicable health conditions. Fruits and vegetables contain polyphenols and other bioactive compounds that may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and may influence inflammatory biomarkers. This study will evaluate the effects of increased consumption of a fruit juice on inflammatory biomarkers and exercise capacity in adults with mildly elevated inflammation. Approximately 40 participants will be randomly assigned to consume one of two fruit juice interventions daily for approximately 2 weeks. Changes in C-reactive protein (CRP) and exercise capacity, assessed using a 6-minute walk test, will be evaluated before and after the intervention and compared between the two groups.

Efficacy and Safety of Resveratrol in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis.

The aim of the current study is to evaluate the effects of resveratrol on the clinical outcome(s) of patients with moderate rheumatoid arthritis. Objectives : 1. To investigate the effects of Resveratrol on inflammation and oxidative stress by measuring: * Serum Sirtuin 1(SIRT1) * Serum Myeloperoxidase (MPO) * Serum C-reactive protein (CRP) 2. To investigate the effects of Resveratrol on disease activity by measuring the disease activity (DAS28 score). 3. To investigate the effect of Resveratrol on improving the quality of life using the Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability index (HAQ-DI). 4. To assess any adverse effects related to Resveratrol. Patients: Eligible patients (no=118) will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to one of two groups: 1. Control group: 59 patients will receive the standard treatment for management of RA for 3 months. 2. Resveratrol group: 59 patients will receive the standard treatment for management of RA in addition to Resveratrol 1 gm daily, (Organix Egypt) (given as one 1000 mg tablets once daily) for 3 months.
