Gingival Recessions

This study evaluates whether the outcome of root coverage surgery can be predicted from a preoperative intraoral photograph. Adults with Cairo RT1,RT2 or RT3 gingival recessions treated with a coronally advanced flap and a connective tissue graft are followed for six months. Standardised photographs and clinical measurements are obtained before surgery and at each follow-up visit. A deep learning model is developed to predict the surgical outcome from the preoperative photograph and baseline clinical variables, and its performance is compared with the outcome measured clinically at six months. The model does not influence treatment decisions.

To evaluate the association between the width of keratinized tissue and attached gingiva with root coverage outcomes in RT1 gingival recession defects of maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth treated with subepithelial connective tissue graft using a minimally invasive technique (VISTA + CTG). OBJECTIVES 1. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 1. To analyze relation and association at 3 and 6 months outcomes in terms of CRC, mRC and gingival margin position with baseline parameters including width of keratinized tissue and width of attached gingiva, after providing mucogingival plastic surgery in the form of VISTA+CTG for the treatment of RT1recession defects. 2. To evaluate 3 and 6 months outcomes (percentage of root coverage, width of keratinized tissue and width of attached gingiva), after providing mucogingival plastic surgery in the form of VISTA+CTG for the treatment of RT1recession defects. 3. To access the long-term stability of gingival margin achieved from 3 months to 6 months. 2. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES 1. To access recession depth (RD), recession width (RW), probing pocket depth (PPD), mid buccal clinical attachment loss (bCAL), change in gingival thickness (GT) at baseline, at 3 months and 6 months. 2. To access patient related outcomes measures (PROM) in pain and hypersensitivity in teeth with gingival recession undergoing recession coverage.

This randomized clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of Ora-Aid oral wound dressing compared to an acrylic palatal stent in managing postoperative pain following free gingival graft harvesting. Patients undergoing graft harvesting will be randomly assigned to receive either Ora-Aid dressing or a palatal stent at the donor site. The primary outcome is postoperative pain assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Secondary outcomes include analgesic consumption, wound size, patient satisfaction, and color match over a 42-day follow-up period.

Multiple techniques can be used for recession coverage. The most common techniques are : tunnel technique (T), coronally advanced flap (CAF) or a combination of both (TCAF). Tunnel and coronally advanced flap are frequently used in clinical practice, whereas the combined technique is a rather recent developed surgical approach. This randomized controlled trial compares CAF and TCAF to determine which technique provides better root coverage for receding gums in the lower front teeth. The main question it aims to answer is: \- What is the average root coverage achieved with each technique in the short and long term? This may be clinically relevant because covering gum recession can reduce tooth sensitivity, improve aesthetics and make oral hygiene easier. Researchers will compare the coronally advanced flap (CAF = the gum is detached and repositioned higher) with the tunneled coronally advanced flap (TCAF = the gum is undermined, only partially detached and repositioned higher). In both techniques, a small piece of tissue is removed from the palate, which is used to cover the recession. The purpose of the connective tissue graft under the flap/tunnel is to increase thickness and provide support. Participants will: * Undergo surgery (CAF or TCAF, randomly assigned) to cover recessions * Attend regular check-ups for up to 10 years after surgery * Keep a postoperative journal (recording medication use, pain levels, tooth sensitivity, etc.)

Gingival recession (GR) is a common oral health problem that causes sensitivity, esthetic concerns and hygiene problems. Successful root coverage can be achieved by various surgical techniques. The VISTA technique may overcome some of the limitations of other techniques and present equal results to techniques that are considered the "Gold Standard" in this area of periodontology. The objective of the research is to study the VISTA technique in terms of complete root coverage, % root coverage, gingival thickness gain, bleeding on probing, keratinized gingival width, PROMS, vestibular depth and esthetic results.

This randomized controlled clinical trial aims to evaluate the additional effect on clinical outcomes of compressive sutures associated with coronally advanced flap (CAF) and subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) for the treatment of RT1 gingival recessions (as classified by Cairo et al.). Forty patients presenting with at least one RT1 recession will be enrolled in the study. Twenty participants will undergo CAF + SCTG with compressive sutures while the other 20 participants will receive the same procedure without compressive sutures. The primary outcome, complete root coverage (CRC), will be assessed six months after treatment. Additional clinical parameters, including gingival recession (GR), clinical attachment level (CAL), pocket depth (PD), keratinized tissue width (KT), keratinized tissue thickness (GT), and Root Coverage Esthetic Score (RES), will be evaluated at baseline and at the six-month follow-up. Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) will also be measured, including the degree of general discomfort (D) experienced, assessed on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) from 0 to 10, as well as patient-reported aesthetic satisfaction (PRES) and overall treatment satisfaction (OTS), both quantified on a VAS scale from 0 to 10.
