This study will enroll children and young adults who are scheduled to undergo planned heart surgery or a heart catheterization procedure while under general anesthesia. Researchers will collect information from a forehead sensor that measures oxygen levels in the body's tissues, along with blood hemoglobin measurements obtained from blood samples that are already being collected as part of routine medical care. The goal of the study is to determine whether a blood hemoglobin monitoring method that has already been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in adults may also work well in pediatric patients.

The goal of this study is to compare ferrous salt and liposomal iron for the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in adult women. The study will also evaluate how well each treatment is tolerated. The main questions this study aims to answer are: Does liposomal iron increase hemoglobin levels as effectively as ferrous salt? Are there differences in side effects, especially gastrointestinal symptoms, between the treatments? Does dosing ferrous salt every other day improve tolerance compared to daily dosing? Researchers will compare three oral iron treatment strategies to determine which approach provides the best balance between effectiveness and tolerability. Participants will: Be adult women diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia Be randomly assigned to one of three groups: Daily ferrous salt Ferrous salt taken every other day Daily liposomal iron Take the assigned iron treatment for 3 months Have blood tests at the beginning and end of the study to measure hemoglobin and iron levels Report any side effects or intolerance during treatment

Optimization of hemoglobin levels for organ perfusion is essential, especially in critically ill patients. Although anemia is associated with severe organ failure, especially in coronary artery disease, the effects of blood transfusion or various interventions to increase hemoglobin levels on outcomes continue to be debated. The effects of hemoglobin levels in emergency surgery patients on the development of postoperative AKI have been investigated in a small number of studies in the literature, and clear results have not yet been reported. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of hemoglobin levels on the development of AKI after adjustment for known predictive factors.

The study on hand is based on a cross-sectional design and aims to acquire 1) descriptive data on the physical state and health condition of female soldiers in the German armed forces. 2) a possible influence of different contraceptive methods as well as physical activity, body composition, strength, nutrition, and hemoglobin levels on bone health should be investigated.
