Background: Most people who are referred to the EMG (Electromyography) Section of the NIH are enrolled into specific active studies. This allows researchers to learn about a range of rare neuromuscular disorders. But study criteria may not give researchers the chance to evaluate a single person or study a common symptom. Therefore, researchers want to assess people with neuromuscular disorders who are not currently enrolled in any NIH studies. They will perform tests on these individuals in the EMG Lab. Then they will create a repository of data that may be used for future research. This will help them learn more about these disorders. Objective: To retain data that is collected as part of participant visits to the NIH. Eligibility: People aged 18 and older who will be visiting the NIH for evaluation of their neuromuscular disorder. Design: Participants will be screened with a medical record review. Participants will have a physical exam. They will be evaluated for their neuromuscular disorder. They may have tests to learn more about how their nerves and muscles work that are called nerve conduction and EMG studies. Their muscles and nerves may be assessed with an ultrasound. Their ability to sweat may be measured. Their heart rate and blood pressure may be taken. Changes to their breathing or changes in their body position may be measured. Participant data will be given a unique numerical identifier that can be used if the data is shared. Data will be stored on a server and in a database. Participants will have 1-2 visits. Each visit will last less than 4 hours. They may be contacted for a follow-up visit.

The purpose of this study is to see how results of nerve tests change in people with urothelial cancer who receive treatment with enfortumab vedotin (EV)

The purpose of this pilot study is to determine the safety and feasibility of a daily 3-minute hand-held vibration therapy intervention to reduce the severity of CIPN in the hands. The investigators hypothesize that daily vibration therapy can reduce the severity of patient's CIPN in their hands and improve CIPN-related quality of life. The hope is that results from this study will provide early data on the feasibility, efficacy, and most importantly, safety, of daily 3-minute hand-held vibration therapy needed to justify future clinical trials examining vibration therapy as a potential option for treating CIPN in the future.

This research focuses on the effects of rehabilitation on balance, in patients with acquired chronic demyelinating neuropathy. Rehabilitation will be performed with or without vision. It is planned to include 40 subjects consulting for walking instability related to sensitivity disorders. This multicenter study will take place in Paris's area. Each participant will benefit from 20 rehabilitation sessions with a Physical Therapist and 3 assessments. Thanks to randomization, patient will be allocated in one of the 2 following groups: * Control group, Patients will benefit from balance rehabilitation with open eyes. * Experimental group, they will perform the same exercises while keeping their eyes closed or their vision will be obstructed by a mask or disturbed by moving luminous dots projected on the environment in darkness.

The development of neuropathic pain is one of the most debilitating sequels after a spinal cord injury (SCI). The overall aim of this study is to investigate potential underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of neuropathic pain after SCI. The functionality of the nociceptive pathway in humans as well as its plastic changes following SCI will be inferred with sophisticated sensory and pain phenotyping using quantitative sensory testing (i.e., psychophysical measures), objective neurophysiological measures of pain processing and the recording of pain-related autonomic responses (i.e., galvanic skin response, cardiovascular measures and pupil dilation). In addition, the interplay between the somatosensory and autonomic nervous system and its association with the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain after SCI will be investigated.

This study aims to evaluate nerve excitability in participants with cisplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy (cis-PN) using threshold tracking nerve conduction studies (TTNCS). By assessing changes in nerve excitability parameters, the study seeks to enhance understanding of the pathophysiology of cis-PN and identify early markers of neurotoxicity in participants undergoing cisplatin-based chemotherapy.

This research trial studies whole exome sequencing in finding causative variants in germline deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples from patients with peripheral neuropathy receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. Studying samples of germline DNA in the laboratory from patients with peripheral neuropathy receiving paclitaxel for breast cancer may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to peripheral neuropathy.

The study involves recording personal, clinical, and instrumental information. The acquisition of the above-mentioned personal and clinical information will be carried out in conjunction with the usual follow-up visits scheduled as part of normal clinical practice. At the end of the study, a statistical analysis of the data will be carried out.

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a chronic pain syndrome that may be resistant to treatment and can lead to physical and social disability as well as psychological disturbances, persisting for years in some patients. Varicella zoster virus remains latent in the sensory neurons of individuals who have previously had chickenpox. Reactivation of the latent virus results in herpes zoster. Herpes zoster typically begins with dermatomal pain, followed within a few days by the development of characteristic dermatomal skin rashes. These cutaneous lesions usually resolve within 2-4 weeks; however, pain may persist even after the rash has healed. There is variability in the literature regarding the definition of PHN. The development of PHN is associated with increased central neuronal sensitization, reduced inhibitory neuronal function, inflammation and nerve injury in the peripheral nervous system, and abnormal neural transmission following nerve damage. PHN is the most common complication of herpes zoster and occurs in approximately 9-19% of affected patients. Its incidence increases with age, occurring in about 2% of patients under 50 years of age, approximately 20% of those over 50 years, and nearly 35% of patients over 80 years of age. Various treatment options are available for the management of PHN-related pain, including pharmacological and interventional approaches. Systemic agents include tricyclic antidepressants, calcium channel alpha-2-delta ligands, serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, and opioids, while topical treatments include lidocaine and capsaicin. Interventional treatment options for PHN include epidural and intrathecal injections, sympathetic nerve blocks, erector spinae plane block, subcutaneous injections, and spinal cord stimulation.

This research is being done to determine whether a 12-week virtual Tai Chi training program, designed to improve balance and small nerve fiber function, is feasible and acceptable among cancer survivors with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the efficacy of glutamine in preventing the occurrence of vincristine induced neuropathy and to compare the reduction in rate of any dose reductions and premature chemotherapy discontinuation rates due to peripheral neuropathy between those who treated with glutamine and those who did not. Participants will: receive glutamine in a dose of 6 g /m2 twice daily (up to a maximum of 10 g/dose) for 14 consecutive days from d 1 of induction and 14 days from d1 of continuation . • Subjects will be asked to return for a complete study assessments visit every 14-days during supplementation period for a total of 4 visits Keep a diary of their symptoms of neuropathy and compliance to treatment and any adverse event

The purpose of this study is to collect a large amount of data that may assist in addressing the gap in knowledge of understanding pupillometer readings using a pupillometer device. The aim of this project is to establish normative values for pupillometer data. Measures of central tendency will be developed for the variables provided by automated pupillary exams, which will provide an enhanced understanding of clinically appropriate pupil values for size, reactivity, and neurological pupil index.

The purpose of this clinical study is to determine the effectiveness of the Erchonia® EVRL™, manufactured by Erchonia Corporation (the Company), in providing prescription home use application for temporary relief of idiopathic neuropathy foot pain in individuals diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy by a suitably qualified and licensed health professional.

Patients with the symptoms of generalized GI dysmotility, including gastroparesis, are sometimes refractory to available medications, devices and other interventions/ Some of these patients have serologic and/or endo organ abnormalities and findings consistent with autoimmune neuropathies, primarily involving the GI tract. These disorders have been known as autoimmune gastrointestinal neuropathies (GAIN) or also as autoimmune gastrointestinal dysmotility (AGID), among other terms. Some patients respond to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and this study, which is an observational clinical series, documents the patients, their findings and standardized responses to therapy with IVIG.

The investigator wishes to evaluate the prevalence of urinary symptoms in patients diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia, Neuropathy, Vestibular Areflexia Syndrome (CANVAS). As much as one third of patients living with CANVAS experience symptoms of urinary system dysfunction. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the incidence of urinary symptoms in these patients, as well as the potential complications that might occur at the level of the upper and lower urinary system. The investigator also wishes to analyse the connection between the severity of the neurological deficits, the presence of dysautonomia and the presence of urinary dysfunction. To that end, the data collected in the study will concern : a detailed neurological examination including SARA (Scale for the assessement and rating of ataxia) scale assessement, laboratory tests of the renal function, dysautonomia tests with Sudoscan and research of orthostatic hypotension, urinary function questionnaires, dysautonomia questionnaire, urodynamic tests and urinary system ultrasound.

MEK inhibitors (trametinib, cobimetinib, selumetinib or binimetinib) have been used since 2016 to treat metastatic melanoma, by targeting the MAPK pathway Neuromuscular complications (neuropathy, myasthenia or myositis) have been reported in patients treated with MEK inhibitors. With the growing use of these new oncology therapies, neurologists, oncologists and other clinicians are likely to be increasingly confronted with MEK inhibitor-induced neuropathy, myasthenia or myositis. Yet, so far, these complications have only been documented in a few single case reports. Our aim was to characterize the neuromuscular complications associated with MEK inhibitors used either alone or in combination.

Neuropathy is a costly and disabling health issue, which consists of a degeneration of the peripheral nerves. Even though the causes may be different, such as diabetes or amputation, the consequences for neuropathic patients are multiple and extremely debilitating. Among the alarming symptoms it implicates, chronic pain and sensory loss are among the most severe ones. Because of the loss of sensations, patients are forced to have an altered gait strategy, an impaired balance and a fivefold increased risk of falling. Furthermore, since they lose sensations and feel numbness in their extremity, they are discouraged in walking, hence leading to a sedentary lifestyle. All of this is worsened by the development of neuropathic pain, which has a high comorbidity with psychological issues, such as depression and anxiety. Today, proper treatments for neuropathic pain that exclude pharmacological solutions are still missing. This is due to the complexity of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the origin of neuropathy, the multifaceted physical and psychological nature of pain and the lack of reliable biomarkers. The aim of this project is to tackle the major problems connected to neuropathy thanks to non-invasive stimulation of the peripheral nervous system. The system is composed of an insole with pressure sensors that captures in real time the force exerted by the subject on the foot and couples this information with parameters of electrical stimulation. Thanks to optimal electrode placement and intensity modulation, subjects are able to perceive in real-time in a somatotopic manner (i.e., under their foot) how they are walking. The aim now is twofold: first the investigators want to couple this stimulation with Virtual Reality (VR) to develop a neuroadaptive non-invasive brain computer interface (BCI) to treat pain and secondly the investigators want to measure through fMRI scans whether the use of the sensory feedback system allows any beneficial plastic changes in the brain. The objective of this study is to provide pain relief to patients with facet joint disease or head and neck pain related to compression of a nerve root. The goal is to provide palliative care with superior efficacy and longer relief compared to current methods.
