Effects of Alternate Nostril Breathing Versus Diaphragmatic Breathing on Oxygen Saturation and Heart-rate Variability in Post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Patients

This study is a two-arm randomized parallel group trial designed to compare the effects of alternate nostril breathing vs diaphragmatic breathing on oxygen saturation and Heart-rate variability in hemodynamically stable post-PCI patients. Participants will be randomly allocated in a 1:1 ratio to alternate nostril breathing or diaphragmatic breathing and will receive the allocated intervention for 2 consecutive days with three supervised sessions per day in addition to routine post-PCI care. Oxygen saturation will be assessed using a pulse oximeter and heart-rate variability will be assessed using a Polar H10 sensor at baseline and after the intervention. The study will determine whether there is a difference between two breathing interventions in the prescribed outcome measures.

Prognostic Value of Pulpal Blood pH and Oxygen Saturation in Vital Pulp Therapy: Determination of Clinically Relevant Thresholds in a Prospective Clinical Study

The increasing emphasis on biological tissue preservation in contemporary endodontics has positioned vital pulp therapy (VPT) as an important treatment strategy for maintaining pulp vitality and preserving the functional integrity of the pulp-dentine complex. Advances in biomaterials and understanding of pulpal healing have expanded the indications for VPT and contributed to favourable clinical outcomes; however, appropriate case selection remains a critical determinant of treatment success. Currently, the clinical assessment of pulpal status before VPT relies on a combination of patient-reported symptoms, clinical and radiographic findings, pulp sensibility testing and intraoperative assessment of pulpal bleeding. Although clinically valuable, these parameters do not provide a direct and objective measure of the biological status or healing potential of the pulp and may be influenced by clinical interpretation. Consequently, there remains a need for objective biological parameters that provide more direct information on pulpal status and healing potential, thereby supporting case selection and prognostic assessment in VPT. Progressive pulpal inflammation is accompanied by increased production of inflammatory mediators, vascular congestion, enhanced vascular permeability, impaired microcirculation, and reduced tissue perfusion. These vascular alterations may compromise oxygen delivery to the pulp, resulting in reduced pulpal oxygen saturation (SpO2). As oxygen availability decreases, cellular metabolism shifts towards anaerobic pathways, promoting the accumulation of acidic metabolites, which may consequently lead to a reduction in pulpal blood pH. Accordingly, pulpal SpO2 and pulpal blood pH may represent complementary physiological and metabolic indicators of pulpal inflammatory status. Their assessment may provide objective information on the biological condition and healing potential of the pulp that is not directly captured by conventional diagnostic methods. Consistent with these observations, Hosseinzadehfard et al. (2026) reported that pulpal blood pH and SpO2 varied with pulpal diagnostic status, supporting their potential value as objective indicators of pulpal inflammation. However, their study focused on the diagnostic relevance of these parameters rather than their association with VPT success. To date, their association with subsequent treatment outcomes and clinically relevant thresholds for outcome prediction remain to be established. The present prospective clinical study aims to investigate the association of pulpal blood pH and pulpal SpO2, individually and in combination, with the clinical and radiographic outcome of VPT at the 12-month follow-up, and to determine clinically relevant threshold values associated with treatment success. Pulpal blood pH will be assessed both immediately after initial pulp exposure and following pulpotomy in the remaining vital pulp tissue, allowing evaluation of the relationship between the two pH measurements. Systemic oxygen saturation and venous blood pH will additionally serve as physiological reference measures. The findings may provide an evidence-based foundation for a more objective and biologically informed approach to case selection and prognostic assessment in VPT.

Oxygenation in Posterior Stabilization Surgery

This study aims to evaluate the effects of prone positioning on oxygenation, ventilation, and hemodynamic parameters in patients undergoing posterior stabilization surgery under general anesthesia. By comparing routine anesthesia and monitoring data obtained in the supine and prone positions, the study seeks to determine how positional changes influence respiratory mechanics and perioperative physiological stability.

Remote Investigation and Assessment of Vital Signs

The vital signs (pulse, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature) are critical in assessing the severity and prognosis of infections. The devices used today for measuring the vital signs have to be in physical contact with the patients. There is an apparent risk of transferring infections from one patient to the next (or to healthcare professionals). Accurately obtaining vital signs is also important when managing other categories of patients where it may be relevant to obtain some of the vital signs such as pulse and blood pressure. This project aims to evaluate a new camera-based system for contactless measurement of vital signs.

Effect of Kangaroo Care on Test Weighing

The study will be conducted with the Crossover Randomized Controlled Method. The infants who have attained oral feeding in the neonatal intensive care unit will be divided into two groups via randomization in the computer environment. After the randomization, kangaroo care will be applied to the infants in Group 1 during the first feeding hour when they are included in the study and they will be breastfed by their mothers without any other application during the next feeding. On the other hand, no application will be performed on the infants in Group 2 during the first feeding hour when they are included in the study and kangaroo care will be applied to them during the second feeding hour. The infants in both groups will be breastfed by their mothers during the feeding hours.

Local and Systemic Oxygen Saturation During 'Death by Squats' Exercise

During the exercise intervention "Death by Squats", which compasses body weight squats until maximum exertion, 25-30 subjects shall be tested for heart rate, the oxygen saturation of the vastus medialis and the triceps, resting and at maximum exertion blood lactate, as well as the rate of perceived exertion on the borg scale. At the end, all should indicate their primary reason for stopping (local fatigue, systemic fatigue, time constraints, motivational deficit).

Validation of Vital Signs Recording With VT-Patch Connected Devices in Children

: Patient readmission to PICU is a major point of concern for physicians because, although being a rare event, it has been strongly associated with more morbidity and death. Patient monitoring once they have left the PICU is drastically modified, and small connected devices could be an option to early identify patients at risk of PICU readmission. Such devices have been manufactured for the recording of vital signs in adults, but they do not exist for children. Besides, studies have recently shown that devices that use optical sensors may be less accurate in individuals with dark skin pigmentation since dark skin tones impose a limitation on optical biometric sensing. The wearable and medical device industry has not sufficiently addressed this issue yet. This is one of the main challenges that need to be addressed in this area to make sure the connected devices using this technology will work with all different skin colours including very dark skin.
