Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis

Assess the quality of care and the satisfaction of patients and caregivers when the monitoring of people on HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is provided by nurses instead of physicians

The overall goal of this study is to test whether dyadic and focused case management will (1) improve financial wellbeing, (2) improve access to food, (3) increase linkage and retention rates for individuals living with HIV or those taking PrEP (PrEP persistence), and (4) increase the proportion of individuals living with HIV who are virally suppressed (viral suppression) when compared to routine Ryan White Non-Medical Case Management.

The goal of this trial is to test a modified mobile health intervention (with a group component) relative to a mobile health intervention in a two-arm randomized trial with up to 500 young women who are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative and who misuse alcohol. The expected outcomes are to: (1) determine the efficacy of the virtual group component in reducing alcohol use and sexual risk and increasing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) utilization; and (2) understand selected outcomes for implementation. Participants will be randomized to receive either the mHealth app or the mHealth app plus the group component, and followed up at 3- and 6-months post-enrollment.

The primary purpose of this study is to assess the safety of long-acting injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA) and oral pre-expose prophylaxis (PrEP) (FTC/TDF or 3TC/TDF) for the prevention of HIV during pregnancy and breastfeeding among pregnant women and their infants in Malawi. The main question the study aims to answer is: \- Do composite adverse pregnancy events, maternal health outcomes, and/or infant health outcomes differ between individuals taking oral PrEP and those taking CAB-LA? Women who are already using PrEP at the time of pregnancy diagnosis or those who initiate PrEP during pregnancy will enroll into a Safety Cohort where they will be closely followed up during pregnancy while optimizing their antenatal care (ANC) per the Malawi ANC package. Women will have access to either CAB-LA or oral PrEP and will be given an opportunity to choose one option. Women and their infants will attend a series of follow-up visits through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. In addition, the study will contribute to the development of a national PrEP Pregnancy Registry which will be initially rolled out in Lilongwe and Blantyre -the two most populous cities in Malawi-before a nationwide roll out begins under the guidance of the Malawi Ministry of Health.

The goal of this study is to determine how many patients with HIV or at high risk of getting HIV attend the Emergency Department (ED) in South Africa (SA). The investigators will integrate HIV assessment in the ED and see how many people who would be a candidate for a drug that prevents HIV (PrEP). Universal test and connect (UTC) is a strategy that universally tests all patients and connects patients to long-term care, whether HIV positive or negative, including referrals for PrEP. The investigator's goal is to use UTC across two busy 24-hr EDs in Cape Town, SA.

This study will follow the ADAPT-ITT model to apply the Prejudice Habit Breaking Intervention (PHBI) to pharmacists who have experience with or are willing to prescribe PrEP. We will first collect qualitative data through focus group discussions guided by the Health Equity Implementation Framework (HEIF) on determinants related to the intervention itself, pharmacists, and the community pharmacy context that may impact implementation of the PHBI. Then, we will use this information to adapt the PHBI in an iterative process involving topic experts, pharmacists, and PrEP users. We will then determine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary impact of the adapted PHBI to reduce implicit racial bias.

This project will develop a multi-component, technology-delivered intervention designed to reduce HIV and intersectional stigma and improve the use of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among HIV-negative Thai vulnerable emerging adults (18-29 years).

Taking a daily anti-HIV pill can protect people from HIV infection. This is called preexposure prophylaxis \[PrEP\]. Many cisgender women and trans individuals do not know this medication is available; others struggle to take the pill every day. It is important to understand attitudes and preferences about HIV prevention options, especially as new options become available. This study plans to evaluate preferences over time among cisgender women and trans individuals who are taking medication to prevent HIV, and among cisgender women and trans individuals who are not taking medication but are at risk of HIV. The investigators enroll up to 175 participants who visit the HIV prevention clinic, and the investigators will ask participants to complete questionnaires at regular follow up visits and between visits. This study may help the investigators understand how best to prevent HIV among people at risk.

The primary objective of the proposed study is to investigate how PrEP use might result in an increase in the utilization of health and social services offered at a local community-based organization. Our primary hypothesis is that the investigators will observe higher utilization of sexual health (STI screenings), psychosocial health (psychotherapy, and substance use treatment) and other social services (emergency cash assistance, food pantry, transportation assistance, clothing,and housing resources) among PrEP users (LAI-PrEP or daily oral) compared to participants who are PrEP naïve over the 12-month follow-up period.
