Safety and Tolerability Evaluation of IgG Binding Protein LT

This study evaluates the safety and tolerability of the food ingredient IgG Binding Protein LT (BP-LT) when added to a daily diet. BP-LT is a stable protein ingredient being functional in the gastrointestinal tract and without systemic absorption. This registration covers a decentralized, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study evaluating BP-LT in healthy adults.

Safety and Tolerability Evaluation of BP-LT

This study evaluates the safety and tolerability of the food ingredient BP-LT when added to a daily diet. BP-LT is a stable protein ingredient being functional in the gastrointestinal tract and without systemic absorption. This registration covers Part I of a two-part clinical development program: two sequential, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled safety and tolerability cohorts conducted at a clinical research site in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Cohort 1 enrolls 20 healthy adult volunteers aged \>18 to ≤60 years (8-12 male, 8-12 female); Cohort 2 enrolls 20 healthy children aged \>3 to ≤18 years. The cohorts are run sequentially in age-descending order: Cohort 2 opens only after an independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) reviews the Cohort 1 results and confirms that BP-LT has an acceptable safety and tolerability profile.

C. Difficile Toxin Levels in Stool From Healthy Individuals Following Standard of Care Antibiotic Treatment for CDI.

Hospitals and clinics interested in participating in this multi-site study, please contact the people mentioned under "Contacts and Locations". The goal of this study is to map the risk of having a C. Difficile infection recurrence (rCDI) after being treated with standard-of-care antibiotics for a C. Difficile infection. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What is the recurrence rate of CDI in the 8 weeks following antibiotic treatment for a first recurrence of CDI? * Does toxin levels of Toxin A and/or B from C. Diff. at baseline predict CDI recurrence risk? Participants will: * Undergo standard of care Antibiotic treatment for first recurrence of CDI * Visit their clinic at 4 different visits over a time period of approximately 9 weeks. (Visits can also be performed remote/via phone call.)
