This study aims to evaluate whether phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow dynamics can improve the diagnosis and prognostic assessment of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). In addition, the study investigates how changes in CSF flow parameters before and after CSF diversion procedures are associated with clinical improvement.

This study evaluates disease progression and management characteristics in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) using an integrated mobile application and hospital information system (HIS) clinical data. The main goals of this study are: 1. To observe patient self-management recording performance and adherence (continuity of recording blood pressure, blood glucose, medication, and diet). 2. To explore associations between integrated self-management data and disease progression or acute exacerbations (e.g., acute kidney injury, hyperkalemia). 3. To gather foundational evidence for optimizing and improving future digital health applications for CKD management. Participants will be recruited from outpatient clinics at Chungnam National University Hospital and followed prospectively for 1 year with regular follow-up visits.

Study start date is on Nov 27th 2024. A patient with an initial ejection fraction (EF) of less than 40%, whose follow-up shows an improvement to an EF of 50% or higher, along with the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter returning to the normal range and taking 3 more heart failure medication randomed to drug tapering group ( RAS blocker or beta blocker) or continuing medication group.

In this study, we aim to identify gut microbiomes specific to patients with chronic refractory liver disease and to conduct a gut-liver axis study on the pathogenesis and disease progression.

Sarcopenia can be easily observed in patients with hemodialysis. However, there were few studies on the precise concept and diagnostic criteria for sarcopenia in patients with hemodialysis. The investigators have already recognized the sarcopenia-associated mortality and morbidity in patients with hemodialysis. However, intervention studies on hemodialysis patients with sarcopenia have not been conducted until now. In 2021, the investigators conducted a pilot study to evaluate the effectiveness of the combined exercise and nutrition intervention for sarcopenia in patients with hemodialysis to confirm the effectiveness. This study is a follow-up study, conducted as a randomized controlled trial.

The goal of this study is to uncover the molecular mechanisms responsible for secondary brain injury in patients with post-cardiac arrest syndrome by analyzing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) using multi-omics techniques. The main question this study aims to answer is: Which genome-, transcriptome-, proteome-, and metabolome-level changes in CSF are associated with secondary brain injury after cardiac arrest? To address this question, CSF samples collected from post-cardiac arrest patients will undergo multi-omics analyses. Identified molecular pathways will be used to screen existing drug databases and generate new therapeutic candidates through computational modeling and compound synthesis. These findings will provide the scientific foundation needed to design and implement future preclinical experiments using cardiac arrest animal models.

The aim of this observational study, based on a prospectively collected cohort, is to evaluate the prognostic value of patient-derived organoids in predicting responses to conventional and repurposing drugs, including temozolomide, in patients with primary or recurrent glioblastoma. The primary question is whether the patient's response to temozolomide is recapitulated in their corresponding patient-derived glioblastoma organoid (GBO). Patient drug responses are evaluated using survival data, while GBO drug responses are assessed through a drug-response testing platform utilizing cell viability assays. Additionally, this platform is used to explore the potential application of various chemotherapeutic agents.
