This study used a prospective, randomized, repeated-measures experimental design to investigate the immediate effects of two upper cervical manual therapy interventions on craniovertebral angle (CVA), clinician-perceived atlas position, and musculoskeletal ultrasound-derived obliquus capitis inferior (OCI) muscle morphology

This study is a quasi-experimental study collected quantitative data , with a pre-test-post-test design. Pre-intervention, baseline measurements of C5-C6 right facet joint length and width with the head of the treatment plinth downward at 45 and 90 degrees, (relative to the rest of the table) and stiffness at 90 degrees, were taken prior to applying the long-axis thrust manipulation. Post-intervention measures were taken immediately after a long axis thrust manipulation of C5-C6 and again at 24-hours after the manipulation. The baseline pre-intervention measures were then compared to the post-intervention measurements. The investigator performing the manipulation was blinded to the quantitative measurements of the ultrasound images. The ultrasound operator was blinded to the outcome of the manipulation.

Health inequalities, social isolation, and family adversity impact a child's development. Play is the context for child development in all areas. A parent's ability to support children at play while being playful contributes to their psychological adjustment. The proposed tier 1, strengths-based educational program for parents of children aged 2 to 5 years with and without disabilities combines elements of a play-based approach and tips on effective parenting to support children's development by equipping parents with knowledge and empowering them to become change agents in their children's lives.
