Time-restricted Eating and High-intensity Interval Training After Gestational Diabetes

This trial will recruit participants who had gestational diabetes in their most previous pregnancy. Participants will be randomly allocated into two groups: one intervention group and one control group 6-12 weeks after giving birth. The intervention group will undergo an 8-week supervised intervention consisting of time-restricted eating and endurance exercise training with moderate-to-high intensity. The investigators will assess cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition, and other markers of cardiovascular and metabolic health before and after the 8 weeks. Additionally, the participants in the intervention group will be encouraged to continue exercising and eating time restricted after the supervised period and follow them up by telephone until one year from the baseline visit. The investigators will measure the same outcomes at the follow-up as on the previous two test points.

Digital Follow-up of Aerobic Interval Training in Outpatients With Mental Disorders

This randomized-controlled trial (RCT) will investigate if digital follow-up of exercise, i.e. followup through the new citizen portal HelsaMi, coupled with an exercise app can result in exercise adherence and improved oxygen uptake in individuals with mental disorders (MD). Secondary, the project will provide information regarding effects on cardiovascular disease risk-factors, functional capacity, quality of life, satisfaction, and cost through a randomized-controlled trial (RCT) including individuals with MDs. Outcomes assessed in this project, such as maximal oxygen uptake, functional capacity, and quality of life, are strongly related to the ability to carry out activities of daily living. These outcomes are associated with benefits such as reduced sick leave, extended life expectancy, independence, and improved health status with increasing age. Economically, with the world population growing older and health care resources being stretched, there is clearly a need to apply and evaluate effective alternative methods to improve somatic health on a broader scale in a sustainable fashion, preferably utilizing existing platforms and exercise apps.

TRUST-ACE - Anticancer-treatment Cardiotoxicity Identification by Echocardiography

TRUST-ACE will compare a simplified echocardiographic protocol focusing on ventricular function with the guideline recommended comprehensive echocardiographic examination using a randomised design in follow-up of breast-cancer patients with respect to identification of cancer treatment related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD). Secondly, the study will evaluate whether novel tools used to improve standardization of recordings as well as automated measurements of central measurements, e.g. ejection fraction (EF) and global longitudinal strain (GLS) can improve the precision of echocardiography in daily clinical practice.

SmaRTWork - a Decision Support System to Promote Return to Work Among People Sick-listed With Musculoskeletal Disorders

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of an intervention, SmaRTWork, on return to work compared to usual care for individuals who are sick-listed due to musculoskeletal disorders. Potential participants are individuals of working age (20-59 years) sick-listed due to a musculoskeletal disorder (neck pain, low back pain, or widespread pain) for up to 12 weeks living in Norway. The primary outcome will be time to sustainable return to work. We will also evaluate the effect on other work outcomes and health outcomes. We will also interview participants and stakeholders about their experience with the intervention.

Predisposing Factors for Post-stroke Epilepsy

The goal of this observational study is to learn about epilepsy after a stroke (post-stroke epilepsy). The main questions it aims to answer are: * What make some patients develop epilepsy after a stroke? * Does sleep have an impact on the development of post-stroke epilepsy? Participants will undergo: * Electroencephalography (EEG) * Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) * Polysomnography (only patients) Blood tests will also be taken. The patient group will be compared to the healthy controls. Researchers will also look into medical records of stroke patients hospitalized at St. Olavs hospital and collect relevant information.

The EMINENCE Study - PET/MR Imaging of Head Neck Cancer

Head and neck cancers (HNC) often receive radiotherapy as part of their treatment. However, unacceptable failure rates and severe side effects remain a challenge. The improvements in radiotherapy are closely related to improvements in medical imaging. Functional imaging, where intratumoural characteristics such as tumour oxygenation, metabolism, and blood vessel function can be quantified, offers possibilities to personalize the radiotherapy. In this study we will establish the clinical workflow for PET- and MRI-based radiotherapy in HNC by acquiring images prior to and during radiotherapy to develop new concepts for image-based biologically adaptive radiotherapy, both based on photon-based radiotherapy and also proton therapy, which soon will be available for cancer patients in Norway. The investigators aim to contribute towards further developments of personalised high-precision radiotherapy for HNC patients resulting in improved outcome, reduced side-effects and better quality of life.
