Hospital-Based Prospective Cohort of Malnutrition Under 6-Month Study (HOSPIC-6-Study)

This study is a hospital-based, prospective, multicentre cohort study (the HOSPIC-6 Study) that will follow infants under 6 months of age who are admitted to pediatric or perinatology wards with acute malnutrition, diagnosed according to the 2023 WHO criteria. The study will take place at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta, Indonesia, together with other hospitals all over Indonesia joining the HOSPIC-6 network, over a period of about one year. The purpose of this study is to: 1. Describe how common acute malnutrition is among infants under 6 months admitted to these hospitals 2. Observe what happens to these infants during nutrition treatment: whether they recover, whether their growth improves, or whether they experience complications or death. 3. Look at the factors associated with succesful nutrition therapy outcomes. After enrolment, each infant's weight, length, head circumference, and mid-upper arm circumference will be measured using standardized techniques, along with information about their birth history, feeding history, and any other illnesses. These measurements, along with details of the nutrition therapy provided, will be repeated on day 3, day 7, and then weekly until the infant is discharged from the hospital. All data will be recorded in a secure, password-protected electronic database (REDCap). No experimental drug or intervention will be given as part of this study; infants will receive the nutrition care that their treating doctors already provide as standard practice, and the study will only observe and record what happens. The information gathered from this study is expected to help doctors and health authorities better understand the scale of this problem in Indonesia and to support the development of clearer, evidence-based feeding and calorie guidelines for the treatment of acute malnutrition in infants under 6 months of age.

Efficacy of Thread-Embedding Acupuncture Using the Longitudinal Oblique Technique From BL40 Toward BL57 on KOOS Scores and Joint Range of Motion in Knee Osteoarthritis

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of thread embedding acupuncture using a longitudinal oblique technique from BL40 toward BL57 in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The effects of the intervention will be evaluated using the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) and knee range of motion (ROM), compared with sham thread embedding acupuncture in a double-blind randomized controlled trial.

Digital Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Gambling Disorder: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

This pilot randomized controlled trial evaluates the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary clinical effects of digital cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults with gambling disorder involving online gambling in Indonesia. Twenty patient-family dyads will be enrolled. Patients with gambling disorder will be randomized to receive either 12 sessions of digital CBT or 12 individualized face-to-face CBT sessions over approximately 6 weeks. Family members in the digital arm will receive six digital family-intervention sessions over 3 weeks, while family members in the comparator arm will receive the same six-session intervention in printed format. Gambling-related symptoms, urges, cognitions, psychological symptoms, depression, sleep quality, coping, readiness to change, and family-related outcomes will be assessed during treatment. Feasibility and acceptability of the digital interventions will also be evaluated.

The Immediate Effects of Dry Needling Acupuncture on Pain Intensity and Pressure Pain Threshold in Patients With Myofascial Pain Syndrome of The Upper Trapezius

This study aims to evaluate the immediate effects of a single session of dry needling on pain intensity and pressure pain threshold in patients with myofascial pain syndrome of the upper trapezius muscle. Outcomes will be assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Pressure Pain Threshold (PPT) before treatment and at 30 minutes, 24 hours, and 72 hours after treatment.

The Role of Simvastatin in The Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition Process of Breast Cancer

Introduction: Most cases of Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) have a high proliferation rate. TNBC is associated with a poor prognosis, a high recurrence rate, and a high incidence of distant metastases. The Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition process (EMT) plays an essential role in the metastatic process. EMT markers were also more abundant in TNBC and contributed to a poorer TNBC prognosis. As an important EMT marker, the increased expression of vimentin also contributed to the increase in TNBC aggressiveness and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Through the mechanism of action in inhibiting the mevalonate pathway, statins can help inhibit the EMT process in metastases. Notably, simvastatin promotes the down-regulation of vimentin in breast cancer cells. The combination of statins and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) improves the cancer patient's response. This study is expected to evaluate the role of a combination between NAC and simvastatin on therapeutic response in TNBC patients through vimentin expression. Methods: This study is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial conducted in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital. An expected total of 26 TNBC patients will be assessed for eligibility and asked for informed consent. Patients with the plan to have ACT (Doxorubicin hydrochloride, Cyclophosphamide, Paclitaxel) chemotherapy regimen will receive either a combination of ACT-Simvastatin (40 mg/day) or ACT-Placebo. The biopsy will be taken pre-NAC to make the histopathological diagnosis and examine the expression of vimentin. Patients will be evaluated for adverse effects reaction every cycle and the clinical response after 8 cycles. The post-intervention biopsy will be conducted after the cycle finish. The pathological response and vimentin expression will be reviewed from the obtained samples.
