Comparison of Sedated and Unsedated PEG in Elderly ASA IV Patients

This prospective observational cohort study aims to compare the safety and clinical outcomes of sedated and unsedated percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy procedures in elderly patients classified as ASA IV. The primary outcome is the development of cardiopulmonary complications within the first 24 hours after the procedure. Secondary outcomes include technical success, procedure duration, early procedure-related complications, length of hospital stay, intensive care requirement, 30-day mortality, and 30-day readmission.

We Need to FEED: Facilitating Enteral Education for Discharge

Aim: We need to FEED (Facilitating Enteral Education for Discharge) project aims to streamline and enhance the discharge process for pediatric patients with enteral nutrition (including G-tubes, J-tubes, GJ-tubes, and NG-tubes) and ultimately create enteral discharge protocol. The aim of the study is to describe the effectiveness of the discharge education program for children with enteral tubes on caregiver knowledge and determine the impact of the program on unplanned ER, Urgent care or clinic visits. By ensuring that all necessary supplies, orders, and follow-up appointments are in place prior to discharge, and by providing comprehensive education and support to parents, the project seeks to improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare utilization, enhance coordination and communication among healthcare providers.

A Multicenter Clinical Study on Protein Absorption Efficiency in Patients With Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency in the ICU

The goal of this clinical trial is to systematically evaluate whether peptide-type enteral nutrition (EN) formulations improve protein uptake efficiency in high-risk groups at ICU PEI, using targeted amino acid metabolomics and gut microbiota co-metabolomics as core quantitative indicators. Researchers will compare protein absorption efficiency of short-chain peptide and complete protein enteral nutrition formulas in high-risk populations for PEI in the ICU Participants will: Enteral nutrition was administered for ICU critically ill patients with high-risk factors for PEI

Predictive Value of Gastrointestinal Blood Flow for Enteral Nutrition Intolerance in Critically Ill Patients

This study aims to explore the correlation between gastrointestinal blood flow and the incidence of enteral nutrition intolerance (ENI) and its symptoms in critically ill patients, construct and compare predictive models including blood flow parameters, and evaluate their incremental predictive value.

The PRE-VAIL Study

During the prone position, there may be an increase in intragastric pressure. The investigators focus on a scientific question: Whether reducing enteral nutrition before the prone position will benefit patients with severe mechanically ventilated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The experimental group had the enteral nutrition dose reduced before the prone position, while the control group did not have the enteral nutrition dose reduced

Correlation Study Between SMA Blood Flow Reactivity and Acute Gastrointestinal Injury in Critically Ill Patients

This study aims to address the challenges of enteral nutrition support in critically ill ICU patients with varying gastrointestinal function. We'll use bedside Doppler ultrasound to monitor superior mesenteric artery (SMA) blood flow changes post - feeding, exploring its correlation with Acute Gastrointestinal Injury (AGI) and other hemodynamic indicators. Our goals are to identify the patterns of SMA blood flow changes, establish a predictive model linking SMA blood flow reactivity to AGI risk, and propose individualized enteral nutrition strategies based on intestinal hemodynamics. Through this innovative approach, we hope to enhance the safety of enteral nutrition, reduce AGI incidence, and improve patient outcomes.
