Couple-Coordinated Lifestyle Intervention for Women With a History of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effects of a couple-based collaborative lifestyle intervention among women with a history of gestational diabetes. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the intervention improve body mass index and 2-hour plasma glucose after an oral glucose tolerance test? Does the intervention improve health behaviors, psychological well-being, self-efficacy, couple functioning, and life satisfaction? Researchers will compare a couple-based collaborative lifestyle intervention with a woman-only lifestyle intervention to determine whether adding spousal collaboration and support leads to greater improvements. Participants will: Receive healthy lifestyle education posts for 3 months. In the couple-based group, also receive instant messages on behavioral promotion and couple collaboration and support videos.

Healthy Habits During and After Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with an increased risk of childhood obesity and other adverse health outcomes. Early-life nutrition, particularly exclusive breastfeeding, plays an important role in reducing this risk. In Vietnam, infant feeding and childcare practices are strongly influenced by family members, including husbands, grandparents, and parents-in-law. The Healthy Habits During and After Gestational Diabetes (VALID III) trial aims to evaluate the effect of a co-created family-based health intervention on improving infant feeding practices and childhood body composition among children born to women with GDM. The intervention includes counseling, peer support, digital health components, educational materials, and follow-up support for nutrition, infant feeding practices, physical activity, and GDM management from pregnancy through 24 months after birth. Participants in the control group will receive standard care together with access to a GDM management website. The primary objective is to evaluate the effect of the intervention on the duration of exclusive breastfeeding during the first 180 days after birth. Secondary objectives include evaluating exclusive breastfeeding at 6 months, child fat mass index at 24 months, and broader maternal and child health and wellbeing outcomes.

Efficacy of Lactobacillus Rhamnosus LRa05 in Gestational Diabetes

This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the multifaceted impacts of Lactobacillus rhamnosus LRa05 on patients with gestational diabetes. Initially, the study will investigate the effects of LRa05 on improving patients' blood glucose levels and gut microbiota. Additionally, the study will assess the impact of this strain on patients' blood lipid levels, inflammatory markers, and body mass index (BMI). Furthermore, the study will also focus on its effects on thyroid function, vaginal microbiota, and bile acid metabolism in patients with gestational diabetes.
