To obtain an assessment of the efficacy and safety of renal denervation by dehydrated alcohol injection, USP administered via the Peregrine System™ Infusion Catheter in hypertensive subjects in the absence of antihypertensive medications.

This study will perform a prospective, longitudinal analysis of clinical and imaging findings from normal controls and subjects with retinal vascular disease to better define the diagnostic imaging criteria that signify change in disease stage. This includes disease progression in early stages of disease or disease regression with appropriate standard-of-care treatment.

Hypertension (HTN) is the leading modifiable cause of cardiovascular disease. Rural individuals experience challenges of the rural health divide: geographic distance from providers, social isolation, limited social resources, and high rates of low health literacy. This study evaluates a home-based blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) program that provides longitudinal health education, empathic guidance, monitoring, and adaptable patient-centered coaching to rural individuals. Participants in this study will be randomized to receive (1) HBPM with the intervention; or (2) the control, consisting of HBPM and a smartphone with a general health application (WebMD).

Herbal medicine has always been a standby source of getting relief from various conditions over centuries, however, it can be categorically said that the mode of usage of these herbal substances has changed over time. Traditional healers help individuals to make meaning out of the natural herbs seen around that can be useful to one's health. Herbal medicine is the use of plants to treat disease and enhance general health and wellbeing. Herbs can interact with other pharmaceutical medications and should be taken with care. Always seek a regular medical doctor (GP) about any health concerns and tell them about any herbal medicines you are taking or thinking of taking. Never stop taking prescribed medications in favor of herbs without first discussing it with your GP.

The main purpose of this observation study is to collect data on the effects and side effects for 12 weeks of the medication administration of the single-pill combinations, which are fimasartan/amlodipine or fimasartan/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide, based on fimasartan. (Stage 1). Also, this study will evaluate major cardiovascular events, long-term blood pressure control, and the safety by follow-up of those who consent to the extended study for about 2 years (96 weeks).(Stage 2)

The CHARGE-APP project will investigate whether an innovative management strategy of hypertension based on the combination of usual care visits and ESH CARE App compared to standard care, is associated with differences in outcome, including control rate of office, home and ambulatory BP, cardiovascular and renal intermediate end points at one year, and changes in a number of blood pressure-related variables throughout the study.

The purpose of this study is: 1. To evaluate the efficacy of Songling Xuemaikang Capsules(SLXMKC) with grade 1 hypertension. 2. To reveal the potiential effects of SLXMKC on vascular function and structure of patients with grade 1 hypertension. 3. To explore the underlying mechanisms of the therapeutic effects of SLXMKC on the intervention of grade 1 hypertension.

The main objective of this project is to analyze the effect of a tailor-made, one-to-one, exercise program (aiming to treat and handle obesity-related comorbidities in adolescents with severe obesity at high risk of cardiovascular disease development) on BMI z-score, specific comorbidities, and other health-related indicators. This project will further allow to analyze the long-term impact of the exercise program not only on clinical parameters, but also on the interaction with drug-treatment, health-related behaviors, and quality of life, further contributing to the understanding of the individual characteristics associated with a positive exercise response and frequency. The secondary objective of the THOR-X project is to build an educational toolkit, based on project results and relevant literature, addressed to health and exercise professionals, in order to improve management of adolescents with obesity, in particular those with severe obesity.

In the frame of this proposal investigators will test the hypothesis that high normal blood pressure (prehypertension; PreHT) induces systemic endothelial dysfunction and endothelial activation in both micro- and macrocirculation, reduces re-endothelialization potential of human endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and increases the level of endothelial extracellular vesicles (EVs), which are accompanied by increased oxidative stress level. Furthermore, initial vascular and left ventricle (LV) remodeling contributes to changes in systemic hemodynamics and may be influenced by altered regulatory role of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) and autonomic nervous system (ANS) in PreHT but otherwise healthy individuals. To distinguish high normal blood pressure effect from those considered normal or high, study will be performed in three groups of individuals: prehypertensive (BP 130-139/85-89 mmHg), hypertensive (stage I, BP 140-150/90-100 mmHg), and controls (BP less than or equal to 129/85 mmHg). Altogether, the impairment of normal vascular relaxation mechanisms, endothelial activation as well as vascular and LV remodeling could play crucial role in increased cardiovascular risk and CVDs incidence in PreHT individuals. Moreover, the prognostic significance of assessing endotehlial dysfunction in hypertension (as well as in PreHT) is yet to be established.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of strict blood pressure control versus conventional care in patients with asymptomatic moderate to severe aortic valve stenosis. The study is a randomized (1:1), open label, controlled intervention trial. Hypothesis: 1. Strict BP control for 12 months reduces the progression of LV remodelling compared to conventional treatment. 2. Strict BP control for 2 years reduces the increase in aortic valve calcification and LV remodelling compared to conventional treatment. 3. Strict BP reduction for up to 10 years reduces the need for aortic valve replacement and cardiovascular events compared to conventional care.
