Photobiomodulation in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting With No-Touch vs Conventional Saphenous Vein Harvesting.

This randomized, double-blind clinical trial aims to evaluate the impact of photobiomodulation therapy on postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The study will compare two techniques for saphenous vein graft harvesting: the conventional technique and the no-touch technique. Participants will be randomly allocated into four groups: conventional harvesting with sham laser, conventional harvesting with photobiomodulation, no-touch harvesting with sham laser, and no-touch harvesting with photobiomodulation. The primary objective is to evaluate the effects of photobiomodulation on wound healing and postoperative complications related to the saphenous vein harvesting site. Secondary outcomes include clinical outcomes and functional capacity after surgery. The results may contribute to improving postoperative recovery and optimizing surgical strategies in patients undergoing myocardial revascularization.

Clinical Investigation of an Ozonated Oil for the Regeneration and Healing of Surgical Wounds in Patients Undergoing Breast Surgery

This is a multicentre, prospective, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study designed to evaluate the regenerative and wound-healing efficacy of OZOAQUA MD OZONATED OIL in surgical wounds in patients undergoing breast surgery. The study includes 50 participants, randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to two treatment groups. The primary objective is to determine whether ozonated oil improves and accelerates postoperative wound healing compared with placebo. Additional objectives include characterising the course of wound healing, comparing the user experience associated with both products, and correlating clinical and photographic assessments with instrumental measurements obtained using dermatological probes. Follow-up assessments are performed approximately 7, 15, 30, and 60 days after surgery. Evaluations include standardised image capture, scar assessment using the Vancouver Scar Scale and POSAS, and measurement of skin parameters using the Mexameter® and Cutometer®. The study is conducted at Vinalopó University Hospital and Elche General University Hospital.

Antibacterial Effect and Soft Tissue Healing of Chlorhexidine-Coated Polyglactin 910 Sutures After Impacted Lower Third Molar Surgery

This study evaluates whether coating Polyglactin 910 sutures with chlorhexidine diacetate (CHX-DA) improves outcomes after the surgical removal of impacted mandibular (lower) third molars (wisdom teeth). The study is a randomized, triple-blind, split-mouth clinical trial. Eligible participants are patients aged 18 to 35 years who need extraction of two symmetrical impacted lower wisdom teeth of similar difficulty. For each participant, one extraction site is closed with standard Polyglactin 910 sutures and the other site is closed with chlorhexidine diacetate-coated Polyglactin 910 sutures, with the allocation assigned by random draw. Participants, the surgeon, and the outcome assessors are all blinded to which suture is used at each site. The researchers compare the two suture types on the bacterial load at the surgical wound site and on soft tissue healing. Bacterial load is assessed from gingival crevicular fluid collected at the wound site next to the suture and quantified by viability real-time PCR (vPCR, copies/mL). Soft tissue healing is assessed using the IPR healing scale. Both outcomes are measured on days 3, 5, and 7 after surgery. The aim is to determine whether the chlorhexidine-coated suture reduces bacterial load at the wound site and improves soft tissue healing compared with the uncoated suture.

Botulinum Toxin Type A for Wound Healing After Laparoscopic Colectomy

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection as an adjunct to surgical wound healing in patients undergoing laparoscopic colectomy. Eligible participants are randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either an intervention group receiving intradermal BTX-A injection along the surgical incision after wound closure or a control group receiving routine postoperative wound care without BTX-A injection. Wound healing and scar outcomes are evaluated during postoperative follow-up, and adverse events associated with BTX-A administration are monitored.
