Study in Young Adults to Understand How Glasses With a Small Reading Addition Affect Focusing and Eye Coordination During Vision Tasks

This clinical study aims to understand how glasses with a small reading addition affect the way the eyes focus and work together in young adults with normal near vision. Some people experience focusing difficulties or visual discomfort during near-vision activities such as reading or using digital devices. This study will evaluate whether glasses with a small reading addition can help reduce these difficulties and improve visual comfort. Researchers will compare two different pairs of glasses designed to provide additional support for near vision. They will assess how each pair affects eye focusing and eye coordination using standard optometric examinations. Participants will: * Wear three pairs of glasses, each for approximately 4 weeks. * Complete eye examinations to evaluate focusing ability and eye coordination. * Answer questionnaires about visual comfort, eye strain, and overall quality of vision.

Study of Eye Fatigue From Digital Screens and Its Impact on Visual Performance in People With Normal Vision and Myopia, With and Without Dry Eye Symptoms and Signs

The goal of this observational study is to investigate the effects of eye fatigue induced by screen task on dry eye disease (DED) signs and symptoms, visual performance, and visual behavior in young adults with and without DED and with normal vision and myopia. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does a screen task that induces eye fatigue affect dry eye signs and symptoms, visual quality, and visual behavior? * Are the effects of this screen task different in individuals with and without DED, and are they associated with myopia? Researchers will compare participants with and without DED to determine whether they respond differently to a screen task designed to induce eye fatigue. They will also explore potential relationships between DED and myopia. Participants will: * Attend two study visits. * Complete eligibility screening and realize visual and eye assessments. * Be classified as having or not having DED based on a questionnaire and clinical eye examinations. * Perform a screen task designed to induce eye fatigue. * Perform measurements before and after a screen task, including assessments of DED signs and symptoms, blinking behavior, eye movements, visual performance, and physiological responses with a smartwatch.

Visual and Postural Behavior in Myopic and Non-Myopic Teenagers

The goal of this observational study is to learn whether different types of eyeglasses prescription and different types of lenses change how close teenagers hold objects when looking at them up close. The study includes adolescents who are non-myopic and adolescents who are myopic and wear either single-vision lenses or lenses slowing down myopia progression. The main questions it aims to answer are: Do teenagers in these three groups use different average working distances (eye-to-object distance) during everyday tasks? Does wearing Essilor® Stellest® lenses change working distance compared with wearing single-vision lenses? Researchers will compare the three groups to see if their working distances differ. Participants will: Complete an initial optometric eye examination. Come for a second visit where they perform everyday activities while wearing a motion-capture system that measures how they move and how far they hold objects.

Eye Imaging for the Study of Childhood Myopia

Myopia (nearsightedness) is increasing worldwide and is becoming a serious public health problem. Studies estimate that by 2050, if no action is taken, almost half of the world's population will be myopic. About 10% of people could develop severe myopia, which increases the risk of serious eye problems such as retinal detachment, damage to the macula, or glaucoma. Children are particularly affected because myopia often worsens as they grow. Several treatments are now available to slow the progression of myopia in children, but these treatments are not equally effective for everyone. Some children respond better than others, and the reasons for these differences are not yet well understood. One possible explanation is that differences in eye anatomy may influence the effectiveness of a treatment. This suggests that myopia treatments may need to be tailored to each child. By studying the anatomy of the eye, researchers could improve and personalize myopia control strategies. The study entitled "Eye imaging for the study of childhood myopia" aims to better understand the structure of children's eyes. The study will collect clinical data, including images of the eye taken with MRI and measurements of the eye obtained using standard eye examination devices. The data will then be analyzed using image-processing and statistical methods to allow a detailed study of children's eye anatomy.

Algorithm-assisted Subjective Refraction Program Dedicated to Children

Current refraction assessment in children is dependent on the Eye Care Specialist and lacks standardization. Essilor has developed new algorithm assisted subjective refraction software dedicated to children of 6-12 years old and suitable for use with Vision-S™ and Vision-R™ phoropters, in addition to existing software. Two different versions of the software have been developed: the first incorporating only the steps needed to perform an entire subjective refraction process (vA), and the second, identical to the first but incorporating additional steps useful for managing the child's attention and cooperation (vB). The software performance in terms of subjective refraction results will be compared to a conventional subjective refraction method performed with the Vision-R™700 phoropter in manual mode.
