Clinical trials

The study is a longitudinal, single-center study to assess progression of \[18F\]AV-133 imaging in PD participants. Participants will be followed for up to 12 months. Approximately 45 PD participants and 5 healthy control participants will be recruited from the ongoing PPMI Clinical 002 study. Participants will be comprehensively assessed at Baseline and follow up according to the Schedule of Activities. Participants will undergo PET imaging assessments with \[18F\]AV-133. After tracer injection, participants will be imaged on PET cameras at each imaging timepoint-one with the NX camera and one with a standard PET camera-in accordance with the Image Acquisition Protocol (IAP).

This study is a single-center, longitudinal study and will be conducted at the Institute for Neurodegenerative (INDD) Site in New Haven, CT. This study aims to recruit participants from the ongoing Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative AV-133 Prodromal Imaging sub study \[PPMI 015\] to obtain a second comparison imaging scan. In addition to being imaged with the standard Positron Emission Tomography (PET) camera after the \[18F\]AV133 injection in the PPMI 015 sub study, participants agreeing to a second scan will be imaged with the NeuroEXPLORER (NX) PET camera per this protocol. This study will enroll approximately 25 participants at the INDD site. The dual PET scans will be completed at baseline, 1-and 2- years follow up. Participants may be asked to undergo further longitudinal scans based on the acquired study data. All participants will have longitudinal clinical, biomarker, and genetic data for correlation analyses to imaging data from the PPMI Clinical study.

Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative Online (PPMI Online) is an observational study collecting participant reported information from people with and without Parkinson's disease (PD), for the goal of better understanding risk and predictive factors for PD. PPMI Online is part of the broader Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative aimed at identifying markers of disease progression for use in clinical trials of therapies to reduce progression of PD disability.

The study aims to evaluate the burden of tau pathology in people with Sporadic and LRRK2 PD via in vivo imaging using the tau tracer, \[18F\]PI-2620, and a high resolution PET camera, NeuroEXPLORER.

The Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) is a longitudinal, observational, multi-center natural history study to assess progression of clinical features, digital outcomes, and imaging, biologic and genetic markers of Parkinson's disease (PD) progression in study participants with manifest PD, prodromal PD, and healthy controls. The overall goal of PPMI is to identify markers of disease progression for use in clinical trials of therapies to reduce progression of PD disability.

BLAAC PD is a research study to understand what Parkinson's disease looks like for Black and African American communities. BLAAC PD is happening at research centers around the United States. The study is part of the Global Parkinson's Genetics Program (GP2). GP2 is a research project working to transform understanding of the genetics of Parkinson's disease and make that knowledge globally relevant.

The study is a longitudinal, multi-center study to assess progression of \[18F\] AV-133 imaging in Prodromal PD participants. Participants will be followed for up to 24 months. Approximately 100 Prodromal participants will be recruited from up to 10 sites. Participants will be comprehensively assessed at baseline and follow up. Participants will undergo imaging assessments with \[18F\] AV-133 and clinical (motor, neuropsychiatric, cognitive and imaging and biomarker) assessments (conducted under the PPMI Clinical protocol).
