Assessment of safety and efficacy of cell injection therapy generated using non-cultured human corneal endothelial cells in treating corneal endothelial dysfunction

The purpose of this research study is to test whether a personalised care approach improves adherence compared to standard care. Many patients with macular diseases like age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema need regular eye injections to protect their vision. However, some do not adhere to their treatment appointments, risking further vision loss. You were selected as a possible participant in this research study because you have been diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) or diabetic macula edema (DME) requiring intravitreal injection treatment (IVT). This research study targets to recruit 200 participants from the Singapore National Eye Centre. This study comprises two cohort groups: Cohort 1(Suboptimal CAT scores/ Randomized Control trial) and Cohort 2 (Optimal CAT scores/Observation). If you agree to take part in this study, the research coordinator will obtain your written consent before proceeding with the study procedures. You will be required to complete CAT assessment (via remote or administered in clinic) and assigned to cohort 1 or cohort 2 based on CAT scores result. If you are assigned to cohort 1, you will be randomly allocated to either the personalized multi-disciplinary protocolized intervention (MPI) or standard care group. Randomization means assigning you to one of two groups by chance, like tossing a coin or rolling a dice. * MPI group: You will complete a specialized computerized adaptive testing (CAT) quality of life questionnaire. Based on the domain specific scores, you will receive a medical consultation and a referral to nurse educators, optometrists, occupational therapists, or social workers. * Standard care group: If you are allocated to this group, you will receive standard care, where doctors make treatment decisions without using the CAT results. If you are assigned to cohort 2, you will be placed under prospective observation and undergo routine clinical care.

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy and work of action of cord plasma eye drops in the treatment of neuropathic corneal pain (NCP). The main question it aims to answer if the cord plasma eye drops are effective for the treatment of NCP through its neurotrophic and anti-neuroinflammatory effects.

Small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) procedure is a well-known procedure for the correction of myopia. The purpose of this research study is to compare the two SMILE procedures with different laser platforms (VISUMAX 500 and VISUMAX 800) used for the correction of short-sightedness. The VISUMAX 800 and VISUMAX 500 perform the same procedure, but the VISUMAX 800 is a newer platform. This study is being done to see if the newer VISUMAX 800 provides the same or better results than the VISUMAX 500.

Glaucoma is major cause of irreversible blindness and is characterized by optic nerve damage and visual field loss. Screening for glaucoma is challenging due to lack of a simple, accurate, cost-efficient and standardized process. Artificial intelligence, (AI) especially deep learning (DL) algorithms have potential to automate glaucoma detection, but have to be evaluated in real world settings, before public deployment. This study aims to evaluate the screening accuracy of a DL algorithm for glaucoma detection using colour fundus photographs (CFP) in a pragmatic randomised control trial (RCT). The algorithm will be tested in 1040 eligible patients with diabetes, recruited from the Diabetes \& Metabolism Centre's clinics under the Singapore Integrated Diabetic Retinopathy Program (SiDRP) and randomized to 2 arms: AI-assisted model vs current standard of care (grader assessment). The performance of both arms will be compared to performance of study ophthalmologist in diagnosing glaucoma. We hypothesize that the DL model has better screening performance in detecting glaucoma in the community, compared to the current practice method.

The goal of this study is to evaluate whether Quantum Molecular Resonance (QMR) treatment can effectively reduce eye pain and stimulate corneal nerve regeneration in patients with neuropathic corneal pain (NCP). Participants diagnosed with NCP will attend a total of nine study visits, consisting of one baseline assessment and eight QMR treatment sessions. At each visit, participants will undergo a series of clinical examinations to evaluate changes in the ocular surface, corneal nerves, and tear proteins, and will complete questionnaires regarding their symptoms, eye pain, and quality of life. The investigators will compare these outcomes before and after QMR treatment to determine whether QMR treatment alleviates NCP symptoms and enhances ocular surface and corneal nerve health. The investigators hypothesize that QMR treatment will provide notable pain relief, promote corneal nerve regeneration, and improve overall quality of life for NCP patients.

Assessment of safety and efficacy of tissue-engineered corneal endothelial graft material generated using cultured human corneal endothelial cells for tissue-engineered endothelial keratoplasty (TE-EK).

This observational study aims to validate the use of THz scanning system in corneal edema and corneal scars, and to investigate the accuracy and performance on the use of THz scanning system in the evaluation of the progression of corneal edema and corneal scars. Participants corneal scars and corneal edema will undergo THz scanning, followed by a series of conventional clinical examinations for detailed characterization of the corneal lesion. The performance of the use of THz system on corneal scars and edema will be evaluated by correlating measurements from the THz scans with those obtained from standard clinical methods. The investigators hypothesize that the THz scanning system has the capacity to evaluate the hydration level on human corneas.

This observational study aims to establish the safety profile of the use of Terahertz (THz) scanning system on corneal diseases. Participants with "non-seeing" eyes but normal corneas will undergo THz scanning. Eye examinations will be conducted at baseline, immediately after scanning, and at 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month post-scanning. These examinations will include measurements of visual acuity, eye structural, retinal health, corneal cell morphology, and corneal nerve status. The investigators hypothesize that the THz scanning system is safe for application to the human cornea.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of ripasudil administered as an ophthalmic solution in patients with FED after femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery. The secondary aim is to identity the characteristics of patients who will benefit the most with the use of ripasudil based on the test results obtained from this study.

This observational study aims to compare two laser corrective procedures for treating myopia and myopic astigmatism: a novel refractive technique, the CLEAR procedure, and the established SMILE procedure. Participants will be randomized to undergo CLEAR in one eye and SMILE in the other. The investigators will evaluate and compare the two procedures based on the following aspects: refractive predictability (how accurate the vision correction is) by measuring the proportion of eyes close to the target prescription after surgery, clinical dry eye outcomes, changes in tear proteins, and corneal nerve changes at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after both surgeries. Metabolomic features of the removed corneal tissue and how precisely the laser is centered during surgery will also be examined. Our hypothesis is that CLEAR provides equally good vision results as SMILE, and explore any extra benefits of CLEAR.
