Co-Creation Workshops With MaKey MaKey to Promote Participation Among People With Mental Health Conditions

This pilot study aims to design, implement, and conduct an initial evaluation of a group-based co-creation workshop program using MaKey MaKey and Scratch for adults attending a mental health day hospital. The program will use low-cost creative technologies as tools to promote social participation, motivation, and empowerment through cooperative experiences adapted to participants' interests, abilities, and needs. The intervention will consist of six weekly sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes each, with the possibility of two additional sessions to complete and present the projects developed. Participants will collaborate in the design of musical activities, cooperative games, interactive narratives, or other creative projects. Assessments will be conducted before and after the intervention, and information will be collected on attendance, participation, usability, incidents, support needs, and adaptations. The feasibility and acceptability of the program, as well as participants' experiences, will also be explored to inform its improvement and potential future implementation in other mental health services.

Cardiometabolic Adaptations to Concurrent Training: Effect of Effort Configuration on Postmenopausal Women

The main objectives of this project are to assess the effects of a 20-week concurrent training program on neuromuscular adaptations, body composition, cardiometabolic health, quality of life, mood state, physical self-perception, and menopause-related symptoms in physically active postmenopausal women, and to compare the adaptations resulting from different combinations of endurance and resistance training programs with varying effort configurations. Additionally, this project aims to examine the longitudinal interaction and potential interference effects between endurance and resistance training effort configurations throughout the training program and to determine the optimal combination of effort configurations that maximizes health benefits in concurrent training programs for physically active postmenopausal women.

Acute Cardiovascular and Neuromuscular Responses to Walking With Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) in Older Adults

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore how walking combined with different levels of partial blood flow restriction (BFR) affects cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and movement (kinematic) variables in older adults. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does walking with BFR increase internal effort, as shown by cardiovascular changes, and is this effect proportional to the level of restriction? Does walking with BFR temporarily reduce neuromuscular control, and is this reduction greater at higher restriction levels? Does walking with BFR change gait movement patterns? This study uses a crossover design, meaning that each participant will complete all four conditions and serve as their own control. Participants will: Take part in walking sessions under four conditions with different levels of restriction: BFR40%, BFR80%, SHAM (0% BFR), and CON (without BFR). Have their cardiovascular responses, muscle performance, and gait movement patterns measured. Report their perceptions of the sessions, including Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), satisfaction, and possible side effects.

Knee Osteoarthritis, Motor Control, Risk of Falls and Virtual Reality

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about knee osteoarthritis, functionality, and risk of falls in community-dwelling adults aged 60 years and older. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What are the characteristics of a community-dwelling population over 60 years and older in terms of knee osteoarthritis, functionality, and risk of falls? * Does an intervention with virtual reality lower knee osteoarthritis symptoms, raise functionality and prevent falls in community-dwelling adults aged 60 years and older, compared to a control group receiving conventional physiotherapy treatment based on therapeutic exercise? Participants will: * Answer questionnaires. * Perform physical laboratory tests through a camera-based motion capture system. * Execute task-based exercises in a virtual environment through virtual reality. Researchers will compare community-dwelling adults aged 60 years and older who execute task based exercises in a virtual environment through virtual reality and community-dwelling adults aged 60 years and older receiving conventional physiotherapy treatment based on therapeutic exercise to see if virtual reality improves knee osteoarthritis symptoms, functionality, and lowers fall risk.
