Infant Death

This postmarket surveillance study will evaluate the safety of the SNOO Smart Sleeper Bassinet when used for infants who are at high risk for Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID). This study will survey 1000 caregivers of high-risk infants to examine the frequency of death or serious injury occurring in the SNOO Bassinet.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the Along With Me web-based intervention works to decrease posttraumatic stress symptoms and suicidal ideation among bereaved parents following pregnancy and early infant loss. It will also learn whether peer guides provide additional improvements on these outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: • Do people who receive Along With Me or Along With Me plus a Peer Guide compared to services as usual have lower posttraumatic stress symptoms and suicidal ideation than those who do not receive the intervention? Researchers will compare Along With Me and Along With Me plus a Peer Guide to services as usual (referrals made in the hospital setting) to see if Along With Me works to prevent and address posttraumatic stress symptoms and suicidal ideation. Participants will: * Receive access to a mobile app with approximately 10 therapeutic modules about how to manage grief and other symptoms. * Receive check-ins with a Peer Guide (in the Peer Guide condition only)

The goal of this multicenter, cluster-randomized, crossover trial is to determine if umbilical cord milking compared to early cord clamping will reduce in-hospital mortality in non-vigorous preterm infants born between 30 weeks and 34 weeks of gestation.

The goals of this observational study is to assess whether a new advanced wireless skin sensor vital sign monitoring system can effectively monitor the vital signs of healthy newborn infants (≥ 35 weeks gestational age). The main aims of this Study are to: 1. Assess feasibility 2. Evaluate safety 3. Determine accuracy of the wireless monitoring system, compared to the standard of care wired vital sign monitoring system, immediately after delivery and for the first 2h of age in the obstetrical center under unsupervised parents' care. The newborn infants participating in the Study will have both vital sign monitoring systems placed on their chest and limb. Their vital signs will be monitored for 2h consecutively.

This project is a pioneering study in determining the impact of midwife-led safe infant care training for pregnant women on awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and home accidents. Raising awareness and improving women's knowledge about SIDS and home accidents is expected to help reduce preventable infant deaths. If the effectiveness of this training is proven, integrating it into prenatal care programs would be a significant step towards improving maternal and child health.

This study aims to improve adherence to American Academy of Pediatrics safe sleep (SS) recommendations and improve rates of initiation and duration of partial and exclusive breastfeeding (BF); and reduce Black/White disparities in these practices through the use of private Facebook groups providing a) evidence-based education through videos and other multi-media supporting best practices and b) an online community and social network of other pregnant WIC clients and new parents.

This study examines the implementation of the TodaysBaby™ mobile safe sleep intervention program in US hospitals. The main aims of this study are to examine: 1) differences in program penetration and the equity of penetration according to income and race/ethnicity; 2) differences in feasibility, acceptability, sustainability and fidelity top the intervention; and 3) the effectiveness of the intervention.

This study aims to improve HIV healthcare services for mothers living with HIV and their newborns in Tanzania and Mozambique. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1) does enhancing screening with maternal HIV viral load monitoring at delivery identify more mother-child pairs at high-risk for HIV vertical transmission? and 2) are high-risk infants linked to appropriate prevention and care? The study will expand access to HIV testing services to more rural settings using a hub-and-spoke referral system.
