The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the effect of acupressure on respiratory performance and pain levels in adult patients who have undergone open-heart surgery. Pulmonary complications and severe pain are common after cardiac surgery, often limiting the effectiveness of standard deep breathing exercises such as incentive spirometry. This study investigates whether applying acupressure-a non-invasive complementary therapy-can help manage postoperative pain and improve respiratory capacity. By potentially reducing pain without the respiratory side effects associated with pharmacological medications, acupressure may enable patients to perform their breathing exercises more effectively and support their overall recovery.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of a nurse-led Environmental Stressor Reduction Package on perceived environmental stress and sleep quality among adult patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The Environmental Stressor Reduction Package is a structured, multicomponent nursing intervention designed to reduce potentially disturbing environmental stimuli during nighttime care. The package focuses on reducing unnecessary noise, optimizing nighttime lighting, supporting thermal comfort, limiting nighttime visitor activity, and organizing nursing care to minimize avoidable sleep interruptions while maintaining patient safety and essential clinical care. Participants in the intervention group will receive the Environmental Stressor Reduction Package during their ICU stay, while participants in the control group will receive standard ICU care. The study will assess whether the nurse-led intervention reduces perceived environmental stress and improves self-reported sleep quality compared with standard care. Perceived environmental stress will be assessed using the Intensive Care Unit Environmental Stressor Scale (ICUESS), and sleep quality will be assessed using the Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ).

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulties in social communication and interaction, as well as impairments in physical function domains such as postural control, balance, coordination, and motor planning. This study is designed as a randomized controlled trial to determine the effects of hippotherapy, applied in addition to a special education program, on physical function, bladder-bowel symptoms, and social communication level in children with ASD.

Cerebral palsy is a group of permanent disorders affecting movement and posture due to non-progressive disturbances in the developing brain. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of hippotherapy on physical function, including balance, trunk control, posture, and handgrip strength, as well as bladder and bowel symptoms and family quality of life in children with cerebral palsy.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether a structured combined exercise program can improve heart health, menopausal symptoms, sleep quality, and quality of life in postmenopausal women aged 45 to 65 years. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the exercise program improve heart rate variability, which shows how well the heart is controlled by the nervous system? Does the exercise program lower menopausal symptoms? Does the exercise program improve sleep quality and quality of life? Researchers will compare women who join the exercise program with women who continue their usual daily activities. Participants in the exercise group will take part in a supervised exercise program for 12 weeks. They will exercise 2 days each week. Each session will last 45 minutes and will include warm-up, balance, strengthening, coordination, flexibility, and cool-down exercises. Participants in the control group will continue their usual daily activities during the study.

Traditional hospital gowns fail to protect patient privacy due to their design features, restrict freedom of movement and are incompatible with medical equipment. This situation negatively affects both patient satisfaction and the quality of care. The limited number of studies addressing this issue in the literature highlights the unique value of the topic. This project will be conducted with a randomized controlled design to develop a functional and ergonomic hospital gown suitable for clinical requirements for patients undergoing abdominal surgery and to evaluate its effectiveness. During the design process, priority will be given to privacy, ease of mobilization and integration with medical devices. The study first plans to produce a prototype of a cotton fabric apron. Technical modeling will be conducted in collaboration with the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at Bahçeşehir University; the prototype will then be evaluated for clinical suitability. In the second phase, an experimental study will be conducted at Medicana Hospital in Ataşehir, Istanbul, to assess the apron's effectiveness. The sample size was determined using power analysis to include 86 patients in each of the control and intervention groups, for a total of 172 patients, and 14 healthcare professionals will participate in the study. Patient and healthcare professional identification forms, along with patient apron evaluation questionnaires, will be used as data collection tools. The study consists of five main work packages: (1) obtaining the necessary permits and registering the research, (2) selecting materials and determining fabric properties, (3) technical modeling and design work, (4) patient trials, and (5) data analysis. Interdisciplinary collaboration will be maintained throughout the process, and the final model will be developed through iterative prototyping and pilot trials. The widespread impact of the project is expected to increase the quality of clinical care by enhancing the comfort and safety of surgical patients, facilitating the workflow of healthcare professionals and promoting sustainable textile usage. In addition, the commercialization of the developed product has the potential to make an economic contribution to the domestic textile sector.

Gynecological cancers, particularly cervical, ovarian, and endometrial cancers, pose a global problem. Cervical cancers are quite common worldwide, and this rate is even higher in developing countries. Cervical cancers are easily treatable when detected early, and screening is quite easy. Diagnosis is routinely made through human papillomavirus (HPV) testing and cytological screening. Eliminating anxiety, fear, and uncertainty about gynecological examinations makes the examination process easier, thus enabling early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Keeping up with developing and changing technology and using it to improve women's health is an undeniable change in recent times. This study aims to determine the effect of an AI-assisted informational training program on women's anxiety and satisfaction levels regarding gynecological examinations.

This clinical trial investigates the effects of a 12-week Pelvic Floor Muscle Training (PFMT) program applied via Action Observation Therapy (AOT) with metaphorical imagery on urinary incontinence, quality of life, and treatment adherence in geriatric women. The study will be conducted between June 2025 and June 2026 in nursing homes in Istanbul, targeting women aged 65 and older who are diagnosed with stress or stress-predominant mixed urinary incontinence, possess normal cognitive function (Standardized Mini Mental Test score ≥ 24), and walk independently. Eligible participants will be divided into groups, where both will undergo a progressive exercise regimen involving twice-weekly 45-50 minute group sessions that advance from supine positions to standing and jumping movements. However, the AOT study group will uniquely perform these exercises while observing and imagining projected metaphor-themed visuals to enhance motor learning and motivation. Efficacy will be evaluated pre- and post-intervention using various standardized tools, including the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20, a 24-hour pad test, the Incontinence Severity Index, the Movement Imagery Questionnaire-3, and the Incontinence Quality of Life Scale, to comprehensively assess improvements in incontinence severity, functional status, and overall well-being.

The musculoskeletal system represents a holistic movement organization emerging from the integrated function of the central nervous system, musculoskeletal structures, and joint complexes. This organization is defined in the literature as the kinetic chain, characterized by the sequential and coordinated activation of body segments to enable distal segments to perform activities with optimal speed, position, and timing. The efficiency of the kinetic chain depends on optimal length-tension relationships, neuromuscular control, and balanced load transfer between segments. As the initial point of contact with the ground, the foot functions not merely as a passive support surface but as a dynamic structure actively involved in postural control, balance, and the regulation of ground reaction forces. Plantar pressure distribution and Center of Pressure (CoP) dynamics are considered objective indicators of foot-ground interaction. Due to its complex anatomical and biomechanical structure, any mechanical disturbance within the foot can influence the loading patterns of the entire kinetic chain.Abnormal plantar pressure distribution-characterized by increased peak pressures, altered forefoot-rearfoot load ratios, and increased CoP variability-may lead to compensatory load redistribution in proximal joints. These compensations have been associated with altered motor strategies, reduced neuromuscular control, and impaired shock absorption. Consequently, such alterations may contribute to the development of pain in proximal regions. This suggests a potential association between plantar pressure patterns and pain localization and severity in young adults.

This study aims to examine digital media use and eHealth literacy among patients receiving chemotherapy. Digital media has become an important tool for accessing health information, communicating with healthcare providers, and supporting self-management. This observational study will be conducted with adult patients receiving chemotherapy in an outpatient setting. Data will be collected using a sociodemographic information form and the eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS). The findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of digital media use and digital health literacy levels in chemotherapy patients.

With the ongoing digital transformation in health education, the importance of learner-centered and technology-integrated approaches has been increasing. Particularly in teaching complex and unpredictable clinical situations in healthcare, the limited effectiveness of traditional methods has led to a growing need for innovative approaches such as flipped learning and self-directed learning. Generative artificial intelligence (GAI)-supported educational applications have the potential to enhance academic achievement by making the learning process more interactive. However, research evaluating the effectiveness of these technologies in education remains limited. In this context, GAI-supported flipped learning enables students to gain individualized learning experiences through simulated classroom or clinical environments and to be better prepared for clinical encounters and specific clinical skill training. One of the critical clinical topics that should be addressed within this framework is shoulder dystocia. Shoulder dystocia is an obstetric emergency, most cases of which are unpredictable and unavoidable. Accordingly, this study aims to evaluate the effects of a GAI-supported flipped learning approach applied to shoulder dystocia training on midwifery students' knowledge levels and self-directed learning skills through effective use of technology.

This study aims to compare the effects of core stabilization exercises, an amplitude-based exercise program derived from LSVT BIG principles, and their combination on dynamic balance in community-dwelling healthy older adults aged 65 years and above. Secondary outcomes include functional mobility, fear of falling, reaction time, and quality of life. Age-related declines in neuromuscular and sensory functions impair postural control and increase fall risk. While both core stabilization and amplitude-based exercises have shown beneficial effects, their comparative and combined effects in healthy older adults remain unclear. This study will determine whether the combined intervention provides additional benefits over single interventions.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation (TAVSS) in improving respiratory muscle strength and function in chronic stroke patients. It aims to explore TAVSS as a potential complementary approach in enhancing rehabilitation outcomes for this population.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of post-stroke sarcopenia on prognosis and clinical outcomes in patients with ischemic stroke and to compare the effects of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Moderate Intensity Continuous Training (MCIT) exercise programs on muscle mass, as well as on functional capacity, quality of life, and clinical outcomes.

This study aimed to examine the effect of artificial intelligence-assisted case discussions on midwifery students' use and proficiency of artificial intelligence technologies and their clinical competency levels. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, its integration into healthcare education has become increasingly important. Supporting case-based learning with AI tools may enhance students' clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Therefore, this study evaluates the contribution of AI-assisted educational approaches to the professional development of midwifery students.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between diaphragm morphology (diaphragm excursion, end-inspiratory and end-expiratory diaphragm thickness, and thickening fraction) and respiratory muscle strength (maximum inspiratory pressure - MIP and maximum expiratory pressure - MEP) in patients with subacute hemiplegia.

This randomized controlled trial investigates the effect of Pursed Lip Breathing (PLB) on anxiety levels and physiological parameters in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) following bronchoscopy. While PLB is known to improve oxygenation and ventilation in pulmonary rehabilitation, its specific impact on the immediate recovery period after bronchoscopy is understudied. The study aims to determine if nurse-led PLB intervention significantly improves heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and reduces anxiety compared to standard care.

Low back pain is a global problem that currently affects many people's participation in daily activities, and its prevalence has been increasing over the years. Exercise is among the most effective treatment approaches for reducing and preventing pain and disability related to low back pain. To enhance the effects of exercise, various adjunctive methods may be needed. Local vibration applications delivered through mechanical devices are offer practical and time-efficient application, which may reduce the physiotherapist's manual workload, while also providing potential benefits for patients with musculoskeletal pain. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the effects of Percussive Massage Therapy (PMT) applied using a heat-therapy attachment on pain, disability, spinal mobility, health-related quality of life, kinesiophobia, and patient satisfaction in individuals with chronic low back pain. Patients with chronic low back pain who meet the inclusion criteria will be randomly assigned to either the PMT group or the Control group (CG). All participants will receive a conventional rehabilitation program consisting of supervised exercise training and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for 2 weeks, 5 days per week, for approximately 45 to 60 minutes per day. The CG will receive only this conventional rehabilitation program. In addition, participants in the PMT group will receive PMT immediately after each conventional rehabilitation session, consisting of an 8-minute application (4 minutes per side) over the paravertebral muscles using a percussive massage therapy device. Outcome measures will be assessed at baseline and post-treatment (end of week 2). Pain intensity will be evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS); disability using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI); spinal flexibility using the finger-to-floor distance test; health-related quality of life using the Short Form-36v2 (SF-36v2); and kinesiophobia using the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK). Treatment satisfaction will be assessed post-treatment using the Global Perceived Effect Scale (GPE), and all data will be recorded on a data collection form.

The knowledge level of nurses regarding care techniques plays a crucial role in the prevention of central venous catheter-related infections. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of training on central venous catheter care (CVCC), provided to nurses caring for pediatric oncology patients, on their knowledge level and infection prevention behaviors. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of an educational program intended to enhance nurses' knowledge and practical skills in preventing CVC-related infections, thereby contributing to evidence-based practices that improve patient safety.

This randomized controlled clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chewing gum with different natural flavors in reducing postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) following Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC). Adult patients undergoing PIPAC will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: (1) ginger-mint flavored gum, (2) cinnamon flavored gum, or (3) control group with standard postoperative care only. Participants in the intervention arms will chew one piece of gum for 15 minutes in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Nausea intensity (Numeric Rating Scale, 0-10) and the presence of vomiting or retching will be assessed at baseline and every 15 minutes for 2 hours. The study hypothesizes that ginger-mint and cinnamon flavored chewing gums, both plant-based and certified vegan, will be effective, non-pharmacological, and safe methods to reduce nausea and vomiting after PIPAC. This research may contribute to enhanced postoperative comfort and faster recovery by supporting the principles of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS).

This study aims to compare the effects of graded motor imagery and task-oriented exercise training in individuals with shoulder impingement syndrome. A total of 66 participants aged 25-65 years will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: conventional physiotherapy, graded motor imagery, or task-oriented exercise training. All groups will receive standardized electrotherapy, while the intervention groups will additionally complete 6-week graded motor imagery or task-oriented exercise programs. Primary outcomes include pain intensity, shoulder range of motion, muscle strength, proprioception, functional status, kinesiophobia, laterality recognition, movement imagery ability, and patient satisfaction. Assessments will be conducted before and after the intervention by the same physiotherapist. The study aims to determine whether motor imagery-based or task-oriented rehabilitation provides additional benefits compared with conventional physiotherapy in individuals with shoulder impingement syndrome.

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women, accounting for approximately one-quarter of all female cancers in Turkey. Chemotherapy is widely used in treatment, but it also affects healthy cells, leading to numerous side effects such as fatigue, nausea, hair loss, sleep problems, and skin and nail changes. These side effects complicate symptom management and negatively impact patients' self-efficacy and quality of life. Mobile health applications allow patients to track their symptoms, communicate with healthcare professionals, and implement recommended non-pharmacological methods. Literature demonstrates that these applications reduce symptoms, improve quality of life, and enhance self-efficacy. This research is a randomized controlled experimental trial designed to evaluate the effect of mobile app-assisted nursing services on symptom management in women diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. The research will be conducted in the chemotherapy unit of a training and research hospital in Istanbul. The study will consist of two groups: an intervention group and a control group. Randomization will be conducted using a computer-assisted method (random.org). Based on the power analysis, 74 patients will be included in the sample for 85% power at a 95% confidence interval, a significance level of p\<0.05, and a medium effect size. Inclusion criteria include individuals aged 18 years and older, female, diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing the 4AC-12 Paclitaxel protocol, owning and using a smartphone, and consenting to participate in the study. Exclusion criteria include patients with cardiac problems, liver or kidney failure, inability to use the mobile app, or providing incomplete data. Study data will be collected online via a mobile app. The results of the study will demonstrate the effectiveness of mobile health apps in symptom management, increasing self-efficacy, and improving quality of life.

This randomized controlled study will investigate the effects of connective tissue massage combined with core stabilization exercises in patients with mechanical low back pain. Participants will be assigned to two groups: one will receive core stabilization exercises with connective tissue massage, while the other will receive only core stabilization exercises. Pain will be evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale, functionality will be assessed with the Oswestry Disability Index, and endurance will be measured with static and dynamic curl-up, static back endurance, and side bridge tests. Quality of life will be assessed with the SF-36, and instrumental daily living activities will be evaluated with the Lawton \& Brody Scale. The results will demonstrate whether adding connective tissue massage to core stabilization exercises will provide additional benefits in pain reduction, functional improvement, endurance, and quality of life compared to exercises alone.

This randomized, double-blinded controlled trial aims to investigate the comparative effects of connective tissue massage and physical modalities, when combined with cervical and scapulothoracic stabilization exercises, in individuals with chronic non-specific neck pain. A total of 51 participants aged 18-65 years will be randomly assigned into three groups. Group 1 will perform stabilization exercises alone, Group 2 will receive stabilization exercises plus connective tissue massage, and Group 3 will receive stabilization exercises plus electrotherapy modalities (infrared, continuous ultrasound, and TENS). The interventions will be conducted twice weekly for 8 weeks, and participants will also perform home-based exercises daily. Primary outcomes include pain, disability, and endurance, while secondary outcomes focus on quality of life, cervical range of motion, and scapular function.

This randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the effects of kangaroo care combined with maternal voice and fetal positioning on the comfort, growth, and transition to full oral feeding in preterm infants aged 30 to 34 weeks gestation. After ethical approval, eligible infants in the neonatal clinic will be randomly assigned to either the intervention group receiving kangaroo care, maternal voice, and fetal positioning, or a control group receiving only fetal positioning in the incubator. The intervention involves daily one-hour kangaroo care sessions with maternal storytelling, followed by positioning in the lateral fetal posture, continuing at least five days per week until infants achieve full oral feeding. Infant comfort will be assessed regularly using the Neonatal Comfort Behavior Scale before feeding, immediately after kangaroo care, and after fetal positioning. Growth parameters, including weight, length, and head circumference, will be measured and recorded on kangaroo care days. The control group will receive routine fetal positioning without kangaroo care, with identical measurements taken. The study aims to determine whether kangaroo care combined with maternal voice and fetal positioning improves infant comfort, supports growth, and facilitates the transition to full oral feeding in preterm newborns.
