This study is an investigator-initiated, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over human trial investigating the effect of arachidonoyl-taurine (C20:4-taurine) and oleoyl-taurine (C18:1-taurine) on GLP-1 secretion during fasting and feeding.

The two pancreatic hormones amylin and pancreatic polypeptide (PP) has been linked to satiety and energy metabolism. The goal of this this study is to determine the separate and combined effects of the two hormones on food intake and other exploratory endpoints related to metabolism in healthy humans. The aim of this study is to investigate the interaction between the hormones and obtain insight into the physiology of the hormones. The healthy participants will undergo 4 study days in a randomised order receiving the following infusions for 5 hours: A) Amylin + PP B) Amylin + Placebo C) Placebo + PP D) Placebo + Placebo Throughout the day blood samples will be collected and gallbladder motility will be evaluated. Further, indirect calorimetry and heart rate/blood pressure measurement will be performed.

This clinical study investigates how blocking the hunger-related ghrelin receptor affects appetite and metabolism in individuals with obesity who are treated with semaglutide (a GLP-1 receptor agonist). LEAP2, a naturally occurring hormone that inhibits the ghrelin receptor, is used as the investigational compound. The objective of the study is to clarify how the ghrelin system functions when appetite is suppressed by semaglutide treatment. Participants will receive either LEAP2 or placebo during two experimental visits in a randomized, double-blind, crossover design. The investigators will assess food intake, appetite sensations, glucose metabolism, and hormonal responses. By examining the interaction between semaglutide and ghrelin signaling, the study aims to improve understanding of how multiple appetite-regulating systems interact and whether additional hunger signals remain active during GLP-1 treatment. The findings may inform the development of future treatments for individuals with obesity.

The present study investigates the postprandial role of endogenous glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) on cardiovascular haemodynamics, hormone responses, and hypotensive symptoms during a tilt test.

In Denmark, about 120,000 people suffer from brain damage, of whom approx. 75,000 with brain damage after stroke. Serious and often lasting vision impairments affect 20% to 35% of people after stroke. Vision is the most important sense in humans, and even smaller permanent injuries can drastically reduce quality of life. Vision impairments after brain damage inhibits rehabilitation and enhances other invalidating effects. Reduced vision results in impaired balance, increased risk of serious falls, increased support needs, reduced quality of life, and impaired ability to perform activities of daily living. Restoration of visual field impairments occur only to a small extent during the first month after brain damage, and therefore the time window for spontaneous improvements is very limited. Hence, brain-impaired persons with visual impairment will most likely experience chronically impaired vision already 4 weeks after brain injury and the need for visual compensatory rehabilitation is substantial. Neuro Vision Technology (NVT) is an supervised training course where people with visual impairments are trained in compensatory techniques using special equipment. Through the NVT process, the individual's vision problems are carefully investigated and personal data is used to organize individual training sessions that practice the individual in coping with situations that cause problems in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether rehabilitation with NVT can cause significant and lasting improvement in functional capacity in persons with chronic visual impairments after brain injury. Improving eyesight is expected to increase both physical and mental functioning, thus improving the quality of life. Participants included in the project will be investigated in terms of both visual and mental functions, including quality of life, cognition and depression. Such an investigation has not been performed previously and can have a significant impact on vision rehabilitation both nationally and internationally.

Investigating the effect of oxytocin on pancreatic endocrine functions by determining insulin and glucagon secretion within physiological ranges of plasma glucose.

Extension of the PFBIO cohort which includes patients with newly diagnosed idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) for longitudinal follow-up for up to 5 years. In the PFBIO-EXA extension, patients are included if they experience an exacerbation, or other increase in respiratory symptoms requiring hospital admission, for further collection of clinical and biological data.
