Evaluate the early postoperative course of patients undergoing laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair with either a conventional or a robot assisted approach and with or without the injection of the trocar wounds with a local anesthetic.

Despite how common inguinal hernia repair (IHR) surgery is, there is little research on how best to prepare people for this operation. Surgeons' advice to patients about exercise and physical activity are inconsistent and usually based on their clinical opinion. Some surgeons recommend exercise to help prepare for the operation while others say to rest. Research is needed to help know whether exercise is helpful before and after IHR surgery. This study will observe the effects of education and exercise before and immediately after IHR surgery. Half of the participants will be randomized to an education and exercise group and the other half to a non-exercise, care as usual group. Participant outcomes will be measured up to 3 months after their surgery. It is expected that participants in the education and exercise group will have: 1) less pain at follow-up, 2) better hernia-related outcomes, 3) quicker return to activity and work, and 4) improved overall experience surrounding IHR surgery. This project will help in developing clear guidelines for pre- and post-operation to better prepare patients for IHR surgery.

This pilot clinical study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new image-guided, needle-based approach for repairing abdominal or groin hernias in adults who are unable or unwilling to undergo traditional open or laparoscopic surgery. The technique uses ultrasound and, when needed, CT imaging to guide a hollow needle preloaded with barbed suture through the skin to close the hernia defect without large incisions or general anesthesia. Each participant will undergo one image-guided procedure and will be followed for eight months to assess complications and changes in hernia-related quality of life. Approximately thirty participants will be enrolled. The study aims to determine whether this minimally invasive approach is safe, feasible, and capable of improving hernia symptoms enough to justify a larger clinical trial

Inguinal hernia repair remains one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide. Tension-free repair with mesh augmentation is the predominant treatment option, either achieved by preperitoneal laparoscopic hernioplasty or Lichtenstein procedure (LP). As the recurrence rate is reduced to less than 5 % after mesh repair, nowadays, long-term morbidity associated with open inguinal hernia repair is mainly related to chronic postoperative inguinal pain (CPIP). Despite many hypotheses about the possible causes for CPIP, there is now consensus that involvement of inguinal nerves plays a major role. The trans rectus sheath extra-peritoneal procedure (TREPP) is a minimally invasive open approach utilizing the rectus sheath to access the preperitoneal space. It has shown promise in providing effective repair with potential advantages in cosmesis, postoperative pain, and recurrence rates. It is a medial approach avoiding the interference with the course of all (three) inguinal nerves through lateral abdominal wall.

The goal of this observational study is to learn how the length of pneumoperitoneum during laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery may affect changes in blood bicarbonate levels. Pneumoperitoneum is the use of carbon dioxide gas to create space inside the abdomen during laparoscopic surgery. The main question this study aims to answer is whether a longer pneumoperitoneum time is associated with changes in blood bicarbonate levels after surgery. Participants are adults undergoing laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair as part of their routine medical care. Researchers will measure blood gas values, including bicarbonate levels, before surgery and again two hours after surgery. The change in bicarbonate levels will be compared with the duration of pneumoperitoneum during the operation. The results of this study may help improve the understanding of metabolic changes that occur during laparoscopic surgery.

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of a non-contact, camera-based physiological monitoring technology in a perioperative setting (including anesthesia induction, surgery, and recovery).Conventional vital sign monitoring tools-such as ECG leads, blood pressure cuffs, and pulse oximeters-require direct skin contact, which may pose risks of cross-infection or skin injury in vulnerable populations (e.g., newborns or elderly patients). This research utilizes remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology to estimate vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), by analyzing facial video captured via standard camera devices (Logitech C930, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra).The primary goal is to assess the consistency and stability of this non-contact system compared to clinical gold-standard monitors (Masimo Root, SedLine O3, and Radical-7) during actual surgical procedures. The findings will serve as a foundation for developing non-invasive, supplementary monitoring tools in dynamic clinical environments.

Inguinal hernia repair is a common surgical procedure, often performed as day-case surgery. Despite standardized surgical techniques, postoperative pain may delay recovery and occasionally lead to unplanned hospital admission. The PRO-RSTAP study is a prospective, randomized, double-blind clinical trial evaluating whether ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block, rectus sheath (RS) block, or their combination improves postoperative recovery after open inguinal hernia surgery. Adult patients undergoing unilateral open inguinal hernia repair are randomized into four groups receiving either combined TAP and RS blocks, TAP block only, RS block only, or placebo blocks , in addition to standard perioperative care. The primary outcome is total perioperative opioid consumption measured as intravenous morphine equivalents. Secondary outcomes include postoperative pain scores, need for rescue analgesia, postoperative nausea and vomiting, time to discharge, unplanned hospital admission, and chronic postoperative pain during long-term follow-up. The aim of this study is to determine the individual and combined effects of TAP and RS blocks on postoperative analgesia and recovery in patients undergoing open inguinal hernia repair.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the use of prophylactic antibiotics and antimicrobial-coated sutures can prevent surgical site infection in children undergoing open groin surgeries. The main question it aims to answer is: • Does the use of intravenous prophylactic antibiotics or antimicrobial-coated sutures significantly reduce the occurrence of surgical site infection in children undergoing open groin surgeries? Researchers will compare no antibiotic use to the use of intravenous prophylactic antibiotics, or antimicrobial-coated sutures to see if the use of intravenous prophylactic antibiotics and antimicrobial-coated sutures significantly reduces the occurrence of surgical site infection following open groin surgeries in children. Participants will: * Undergo open groin surgery with either the use of intravenous prophylactic antibiotic or antimicrobial-coated sutures or without antibiotic use * Visit the clinic on postoperative days 5, 13 and 30 for review of the surgical wounds for any sign of infection.

This study evaluates whether Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) improves postoperative pain and sleep quality in adults undergoing inguinal hernia surgery. After surgery, participants will receive physician-supervised TENS or usual care. Pain intensity and sleep quality will be measured and compared between groups to assess the effectiveness and safety of TENS as a supportive recovery method.

We are going to see the outcome measures for patient and compare them across two groups, those who are undergoing mesh fixation for inguinal hernia by sutures, and those who are fixated by skin staples.

To compare between the use of the percutaneous internal ring suturing (PIRS) technique and the Laparoscopic intraperitoneal purse-string suture sac closure technique. in pediatrics \& evaluate the safety, efficacy feasibility ,operative time ,postoperative pain ,recurrence rate of both approaches.

Pain, anxiety and changes in comfort levels in patients after inguinal hernia repair surgery negatively affect the patient's recovery after surgery. One of the goals of nursing care practices in the perioperative period, especially in patients undergoing surgery, is to provide and maintain patient comfort. Today, the concept of comfort is a part of quality nursing care, allowing patients to be comfortable, carefree, recover more quickly and cope better with disease stress. Using non-pharmacological methods in pain management reduces the use of pharmacological methods, increases the patient's comfort level, reduces stress and anxiety, increases the individual's sense of control over their own health and increases physical function and daily life activities. Virtual reality, music therapy, stress ball are used in various areas of clinical medical care as a way to distract attention and relieve pain.

This study aims to compare the clinical effects of uterine round ligament preservation versus resection in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair in women.The primary outcomes included Time required for patient surgery.The secondary outcomes included Inguinal hernia recurrence,quality of life assessment,Indicators of postoperative recovery,, et al.

The aim of this study is to compare the surgical outcome of both Lichnichtien tension free mesh hernioplasty of inguinal hernia and the combined modified Guarnieri Desarda technique in terms of postoperative pain, post operative complications (seroma, hematoma, wound infection), chronic inguinodenia, early recurrence and assessment of testicular vascularity and size by application of a testicular duplex and ultrasound.

The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of ultrasound (US)-guided transversalis fascia plane block (TFP) and ilioinguinal (II) and iliohypogastric (IH) nerve block in the treatment of chronic post-herniorrhaphy inguinal pain (CPIP) refractory to conservative treatments. For this evaluation, a numerical rating scale (NRS) will be used before and after both interventions.

Pelvic pain is under-reported in healthy adults. Many patients with pelvic pain under-estimate the problem. Chronic pelvic pain can be managed properly, if diagnosed promptly. This is a quantitative analysis of prospective clinical data. It evaluates the management of pelvic pain in a cohort population, and analyzes the treatment outcome.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of preserving or not preserving the round ligament during laparoscopic Trans Abdominal Pre-Peritoneal (TAPP) hernia repair on postoperative outcomes in female patients. Specifically, the study will compare outcomes such as postoperative pain, seroma, hematoma, prolapsus of uterina , recurrence rates, and quality of life between patients whose round ligament was preserved versus those whose ligament was cut.

The study attempts to quantify the relative risks for acute postoperative pain, complications rate, chronic postoperative pain (CPIP) and recurrence rate after different methods of repair of groin, umbilical and incisional hernia depending on surgical technique, mesh type and fixation suture material. For this purpose the investigators will analyze data from the Kalinigrad Hernia Registry (KHR).

The aim of this study is to compare the outcomes of open versus laparoscopic approaches for inguinal hernia surgery and provide evidence-based guidance to the selection of the most appropriate operative technique.

Prospective registry. The purpose of this clinical trial will be to measure surgical outcome parameters (e.g. recurrence, chronic pain and other quality indicators) after inguinal hernia repair using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in the short- and long-term.

This study assess the (cost-)effectiveness of open versus laparoscopic Percutaneous Inguinal Ring Suturing (PIRS) technique for unilateral inguinal hernia repair in children aged 0-16 years.

TIGER is a multicentre, 2-arm, parallel group, assessor blinded, non-inferiority randomised controlled trial with an internal pilot to assess if non-surgeon physicians (NSPs) can effectively perform mesh inguinal hernia repair compared to fully trained surgeons in adult patients with non-complicated inguinal hernia.

Inguinal hernia is one of the most common types of abdominal hernias. Laparoscopic hernioplasty of inguinal hernia is a good alternative to traditional open repairs even in simple unilateral primary inguinal hernia in terms of decrease post operative pain and complications with comparable recurrence rates.Two techniques are described in laparoscopic hernioplasty and have been extensively studied in randomised trials. The totally extraperitoneal (TEP) approach is more widely used than the transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach. In this study we will compare between the results of mesh fixation and non fixation as regard operative and postoperative data.

This research is intended to be a pilot study to identify differences in outcomes for varied lifting and physical activity precautions following surgical repair of single-sided inguinal hernias. The researchers hypothesize that when given the autonomy to return to activity at the patient's discretion, convalescence will decrease in comparison to a control group given specific precautions to refrain from lifting and strenuous activity. Specific aims include differences in convalescence and surgical outcomes for each group, i.e. rates of complications, hernia recurrence, physical activity assessments pre and postop, and quality of life outcomes.
